The Product Regulatory Compliance Manager is responsible for leading one or more of Mopar's North America product regulatory compliance pillar team(s) and associated governance activities. The role ensures compliant sale, distribution, storage, and disposal of automotive/aftermarket products (including chemical mixtures and articles) by orchestrating regulatory surveillance, validation for new part introduction, change implementation, audits, reporting, and crossfunctional execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Workload & Team Leadership: Assign and balance tasks based on effort and owner workload; lead, train, and mentor staff and purchasedservices resources as needed.
  • Hazard Communication & Dangerous Goods: Manage chemical (SDS/labels) and DG regulated reviews endtoend; ensure classifications, documentation, and approvals are correct prior to release and available to dealers.
  • Data Systems & Integrations: Manage regulatory data feeds and system tables (e.g., HazCom, DG, CoO/IMDS); ensure data quality, version control, and timely updates to downstream systems.
  • New Parts Introduction (NPI): Review new parts for regulatory applicability and assign proper classifications (HazCom, DG, CoO, required certifications) before market entry; support new model launch readiness.
  • Document Compliance - Internal & Supplier Parts: Ensure required documentation (IMDS for internal kits, CoO, certifications such as CCC/INMETRO/AMECA, label elements) is received, validated, and available before shipment to markets.
  • Regulatory Surveillance & Impact Assessment: Monitor proposed/new/updated state, federal, and relevant international regulations impacting Mopar products; assess business impact and communicate required actions.
  • Regulatory Change Implementation: Projectmanage implementation of new requirements; develop/update processes, standards, SWIs, and work instructions to embed compliance across functions.
  • Audits & Compliance Assurance: Plan and perform product/process audits (PDCs, labeling, DG/CoO/ HazCom); drive corrective actions to reduce noncompliant shipments and administrative deficiencies; maintain auditready evidence.
  • Frustrated Shipment Resolution (PDCs): Lead crossfunctional triage for DG/CoO/labeling issues; perform rootcause analysis, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
  • Industry/Trade Engagement (as needed): Participate in trade association workgroups and stakeholder forums to represent Mopar interests and inform internal positions.

Strategic Challenges (1-3 Years):

  • Data Foundation at Scale: Strengthen master data completeness and quality across suppliers, PDCs, and internal systems (HazCom, DG, CoO/IMDS) to support Data Citizen efforts.
  • Emerging State Programs: Monitor and operationalize new state laws, guidance documents, FAQs, and webinars; convert updates into filing calendars, datamodel changes, and targeted training for internal teams and consultants.
  • NA Systems Adoption & Enablement: Partner with GPRC Systems & Transformation to adopt/standardize NA workflows (automation/AI where appropriate) and align with global governance without expanding this role to global deployment.

General Expectations:

  • Support quarterly planning, budgeting, and cost management; maintain records to demonstrate compliance.
  • Communicate complex regulatory requirements clearly and escalate risks early; periodically brief management on issues and trends.
  • Exhibit professionalism and integrity with minimal supervision; uphold documentation discipline and confidentiality.
  • Provide direction, training, and workload balance for team members; contribute to professional development.
  • Meet deadlines with high attention to detail; support continuous improvement of systems, processes, and internal controls.
  • Work effectively onsite across functions and time zones; travel to PDCs/suppliers as business needs dictate.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging, Environmental Science/Engineering, Chemistry/Materials, Supply Chain/Industrial Engineering, Law, or a closely related field; advanced degree preferred, not required.
  • Experience: 8+ years in product stewardship, product regulatory compliance, packaging compliance, sustainability, or closely related functions within automotive/aftermarket or adjacent industries; demonstrated success leading audits/reporting and implementing regulatory changes.
  • Relevant compliance training/certifications (preferred): 49 CFR hazmat functionspecific, IATA DGR, IMDG Code, and OSHA Hazard Communication; additional packaging/EPR or product stewardship coursework a plus.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain any rolerequired certifications within company timelines.
  • Technical Breadth: Working knowledge of product regulations, hazard communication, substance management, chemical/environmental rules, and related certifications; familiarity with dangerous goods and CoO processes strongly preferred.
  • Systems & Analytics: Proficiency with Excel/Sheets and experience with SAP, Snowflake, data lakes, mainframe extracts, Power BI, and document control practices.
  • Communication & Leadership: Strong technical writing, procedure development, and stakeholder engagement across levels; proven ability to direct purchased services personnel and drive cross functional outcomes.
