Department Overview

TheElectric Transmission (ET) Departmentis responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient construction, maintenance, and upgrade of PG&E's highvoltage transmission system. ET supports critical infrastructure that delivers power across regions and ensures compliance with regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements. The department works collaboratively with Engineering, Project & Program Management, Supply Chain, Land & Environmental, Safety, and external contractors to deliver complex transmission projects from planning through closeout.

Position Summary

Works to detect, prevent and mitigate safety risks. Provides subject matter expertise on field observations and provides consultation and guidance on corrective action development. Collaborates with and supports line of businesses on safety issues. Communicates safety trends and recommends corrective actions.

Serves as a resource for the development, implementation, and sustainability of the various companywide safety initiatives. Travel up to 75% of the time within Eureka, Willits, Lakeville (all counties within these areas)

Disclosure:

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of thejob posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will bebased on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience,market value, and geographic location.

The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate inPG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Hourly Pay Range: $62.01 to around $80.76

Job Responsibilities

  • Conducts field and driver observations.Supports accident investigation team as a subject matter expert to help determine causal factors. May lead to the causal analysis portion of the investigation.Represents PG&E through interactions with Cal/OSHA. Recommends corrective actions.Mentors' supervisors on safety process and applicable programs as part of field safety observations.
  • Performs technical safety gaps in company policies for High-Risk Project. Communicates safety trends to the LOB at Safety meetings. Serves as a Safety subject matter expert for LOB supervisors and field employees. Consults with LOB Supervisors on incident investigations, SIAP completion and corrective actions development.
  • May be committee chairperson for rigging, ropes and fall protection. May attend Safety Kickoffs or morning meetings with crews to discuss new safety information. Reviews and approves Safety Plans.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Seven (7) years of relevant experience
  • Must have, or obtain within 1 year from date of hire, an initial level, or higher, safety professional certification (CUSP, CHST, OHST or equivalent)

Desired:

  • Bachelors Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Safety professional certification, for example, CIH, CSP, CHMM
