CASUAL POSITION - Not to exceed 1000 hours in one year

Salary Range: $78,8000 - $124,800 (Tech IV)


What your job will be like:
Responsible to develop and maintain the quality control program associated with all cryogenic department projects which fall under ASME B31.3 code and JLab pressure systems mandates. This consists of material traceability, dimension verification, weld inspection, weld documentation, and leak/pressure test documentation. Maintain a good working knowledge of codes and requirements applicable to cryogenic department projects.
In this job you will:
  • Responsible for the groups welding program.
  • Responsible for performing all weld examinations and maintaining all associated weld documentation including weld maps and examination reports.
  • Responsible for ensuring all welders are up to date in their certifications and conduct weld testing with the support of the lab welding program manager.
  • Oversee that all material certifications and related quality documents are available for group engineers to access.
  • Witness and document all component and system pressure/leak testing.
  • Provide engineering and design with any information they may request in regards to welding requirements and process questions they may have.
Experience
  • Required: 12 or more years relevant experience
Education
  • Required: High School Diploma
Experience and Education Exchange

Education above the minimum may be substituted for experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Have a journeyman level knowledge of welding processes and requirements in relationship to pipe welding and metal fabrication. Have a working knowledge of AWS and ASME B31.3 codes and standards. Be able to interrupt implement the requirements.
