Description and Requirements

About the Position

A Cloud Service Provider (CSP) Test Development Engineer is responsible for the definition, development and management of test code and utilities that are incorporated into the manufacturing test process for Hyperscale servers(L10) and rack(L11) products manufactured by Lenovo. This position is part of a global team and will have a hybrid schedule onsite 3 days per week at our Morrisville, NC location. Lenovo has manufacturing facilities in China, Hungary, Mexico and Brazil and you can expect quarterly traveling (2 weeks) as a part of this role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for process documentation and maintenance of code for manufacturing tests, including automations, especially in response to production issues.
  • Design, write, validate and maintain automation code base for manufacturing test processes.
  • Define test strategies for products and ensure maximum commonality across common machines, devices and applications.
  • Work on cross-functional teams to integrate manufacturing test solutions to test platform application.
  • Lead and manage deployment of manufacturing test processes to production.
  • Partner with Hardware and Software Engineers and external partners to develop custom processes and solutions.
  • Escalate and report on production issues as they arise to support worldwide manufacturing operations.
  • Iterate and implement best practices for optimal performance on the manufacturing line.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, IT or related field.
  • 5+ years of Experience supporting Worldwide manufacturing processes and systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Experience supporting Worldwide manufacturing processes and systems.
  • 10+ years of Experience leading the design, test, validation and maintenance of automation code base for manufacturing test processes.
  • 5+ years Leading definition of test strategies for products.
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams with Business users, Hardware and Software Engineers and external partners.
  • Experience with tools and frameworks such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ServiceNow, or Runbook Automation platforms
  • Proficiency with Product Management and Collaboration tools: Figma, Jira, Confluence, Notion, SharePoint, Excel.
  • Strong time management skills, working flexibly across global teams.
  • Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Cultural Competency working across Chinese, American, Desi, European, and South American cultural contexts, ensuring messages are communicated with clarity and tact.
  • Certifications are a plus: CAPM, PMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, CSM, PRINCE2.
  • Bilingual proficiency with Mandarin and English is a plus.

The base salary budgeted range for this position is $105-135k. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission. This position has a hybrid schedule onsite 3 days per week at our Morrisville, NC location. Lenovo has manufacturing facilities in China, Hungary, Mexico and Brazil and you can expect quarterly traveling (2 weeks) as a part of this role.
