First Coast Security Solutions provides security services nationwide. The Security Specialist role is a full-time, non-exempt position dedicated to providing critical support for both Information and Personnel Security Programs. This role primarily assists with Non-Guard Security Support Services at MARFORSOC CLNC, ensuring compliance and security across all levels of operations. Pay Transparency: $21.82/hour + $4.93 Health & Welfare (H&W) Responsibilities
- Information and Personnel Security Program Assistance:
- Support the execution of Information and Personnel Security Programs (IPSP).
- Implement command security program policies and procedures.
- Review requests for security clearances and special accesses.
- Determine required personnel security checks.
- Review security questionnaires for completeness and accuracy.
- Manage and maintain personnel check-in and check-out processes, including associated documentation.
- Check-in includes indoctrination briefings, personnel security file creation, DISS ownership, badge issuance, and access assignments.
- Check-out includes debriefings, badge and contractor CAC collection, access revocations, and personnel security file archival.
- Assist the SMO with transmitting security clearance information to support inbound or outbound visit authorization requests as needed.
- Assist the SMO in enforcing and monitoring security policies, document marking, safeguarding, and usage.
- Manage personnel access controls and "need to know" criteria.
- Oversee physical storage and control, security education, and information handling, including transmitting, transferring, reproducing, downgrading, and destroying information.
- Operate a variety of office automation equipment, such as copy machines, facsimile machines, networked computers, laser printers, shredders, scanners, and other electronic devices.
- Perform other related tasks as required.
Working Conditions The position requires regular interaction with personnel and visitors. May occasionally require lifting up to 25 pounds. May require responding to time sensitive security needs. Qualifications
- United States citizen.
- Must possess an active, final-adjudicated Secret security clearance.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with security-related references such as SECNAV 5510.30, SECNAV 5510.36, and DOD Manual 5200.01 Volumes 1-3.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required licenses, permits, and certifications.
Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a U.S. military service member at the E-5 level or higher performing physical security duties within the Department of Defense (DoD); or Minimum of two (2) years of civilian experience performing physical security functions in support of the DoD
- At least 1 year of experience working with security-related web-based applications (JPAS, DISS, e-QIP).
