Lathrop GPM LLP, one of the nation's leading law firms, is currently seeking a Legal Talent Coordinator in either our Kansas City, MO or Minneapolis, MN office. Primary responsibilities include supporting all aspects of the attorney recruiting function including: providing support to the Legal Talent Specialist(s), Legal Talent Supervisor, and Attorney Recruiting Committee; assisting with and providing support for student recruiting. Provides other recruiting support as needed or requested.

Duties and Responsibilities

Recruiting (Associate, Counsel, Patent Agent, and Technical Specialist Recruitment)

  • Updates and maintains Applicant Tracking System ("ATS") for all candidates
  • Sends out Due Diligence forms and Legal Representation spreadsheets to candidates, as directed
  • Schedules candidate interviews and pre/post interview discussions, as needed.
  • Circulates candidate feedback and interviewer notes
  • Coordinates candidate travel and processes expenses for reimbursement
  • Develops and runs reports, as needed
  • Tracks internal referrals for referral fee payments
  • Maintains and updates search firm tracking spreadsheets
  • Initiate candidate due diligence requirements (background checks, due diligence form, references)
  • Assists with the preparation and distribution of follow-up letters
  • Assists with the drafting of new hire orientation schedules
  • Create notices for attorney departures

Summer Associate Hiring (1L and 2L) /On Campus Interviewing

  • Updates and maintains ATS for all candidates
  • Assists with coordination of law school outreach initiatives, including local employer receptions, in-house programs and community events
  • Works with Senior Specialist to ensure recruiting materials (including firm web site and law firm profile for law school recruiting websites) are updated
  • Assists with coordination of on-campus Interviews (OCI), including but not limited to OCI registration and scheduling
  • Assists with scheduling initial and callback interviews for summer associate candidates
  • Assists with law student travel expense reimbursement as necessary
  • Assists with the preparation and distribution of follow-up letters
  • Initiate candidate due diligence requirements (background checks, due diligence form, references)
  • Schedules Summer Associate Program review discussions and end of the summer review meetings

Summer Associate Program

  • Assist with coordination of summer associate program as directed by the Senior Specialist
  • Helps coordinate summer programming events and schedules lunches for summer associates with attorneys
  • Attends events to handle logistical details, as needed
  • Sets up viDesktop workload / evaluation process
  • Schedules evaluation discussion and review meetings
  • Schedules all new hire orientation meetings
  • Prepares welcome materials for new hires
  • Creates arrival checklists
Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • College degree and two plus years of relevant recruiting/human resources experience
  • Strongly preferred: 1-2 years' experience working in a law firm or professional services environment
  • Ability to work in a highly confidential environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to establish priorities and remain flexible
  • Proactive, strategic thinker with acute attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Team player
  • Must be self-driven and able to work independently
  • Must have superior organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to juggle multiple tasks with competing tight deadlines

Current anticipated salary range for applicants as required by applicable state laws is $53,000 - $66,000 in Minneapolis, MN. Actual salary will vary and may be above or below the range depending on experience and location. Full comprehensive benefit plan including health care, retirement plan, and paid days off, including PTO, parental leave, and short/long term disability.
