Location: 800 Philadelphia Street Indiana, Pa 15701 or: 358 North Shore Drive Pittsburgh, Pa 15212 or: 7660 Saltsburg Rd Pittsburgh, PA 15239 or: 210 Portage Trail Extension W Suite 101 Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223 or: 100 Corporate Center Drive Suite 200 Camp Hill, Pa 17011 Hours: Monday - Friday: 8AM-5PM (Additional hours as necessary to meet the objectives of the department) Function: Assists the Consumer Compliance Manager with ensuring S&T Bank operates in conformity with federal and state consumer protection laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance. This is accomplished through performing Regulatory and Third-Party Risk Assessments, regulatory research, Complaint Management, and providing guidance to business lines. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Has an understanding of consumer protection laws, regulations and policies that apply to S&T's business operations. 2. Holds the designation of Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager from the ABA or is willing to pursue. 3. Executes Regulatory Risk Assessments to assess and mitigate risk to the Bank and Business Lines according to regulations as directed by the Consumer Compliance Manager, and makes suggestions for improvement to this process and Business Line Processes/Procedures. 4. Executes compliance risk assessments on products, services, and third-party vendors. 5. Monitors and tracks Consumer Complaints for regulatory requirements, drafts written responses, and assists Business Lines with resolution. 6. Assists in the identification and quantification of compliance risk considering the size, level, and complexity of S&T's operations; financial product and service offerings; and their delivery systems. 7. Assists in developing and maintaining working relationships with the first line of defense to ensure that compliance requirements are incorporated into business processes of the first line of defense, and to establish an effective monitoring system to ensure that responsibilities are carried out and requirements are met. 8. Performs compliance training to assist business line management and the Training Department as directed. 9. As assigned, participates on committees and task forces involved with new product initiatives and lines of business to assist in the identification and mitigation of compliance risk. 10. Assists in the development and maintenance of compliance procedures for business line management. 11. May be asked to assist with monitoring and testing, marketing reviews, and other duties to support the compliance management department. 12. Assists with compiling compliance-related data for management reporting. 13. Demonstrates an ability to work independently and as a team player; exhibits excellent interpersonal skills to contribute to the success of the department and in turn, the organization. 14. Maintains a good working relationship with all S&T employees and becomes a respected subject matter expert. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently, as well as motivated to work as a team player to contribute to the success of the department and in turn, the organization. 15. Performs additional duties as assigned. Education and Knowledge: Four year college degree in Business or a related field from an accredited college or university. Must currently hold or be willing to pursue CRCM or related certification, such as CIPP, or CCEP. The employment candidate should have specialized education on federal laws, regulations, and policies related to consumer protection as noted in applicable federal regulatory examination manuals. Experience: Requires two to five years general experience with two to five years of regulatory compliance or consulting experience in financial services or two to five years in banking in lending origination, servicing, quality control, audit, or similar. To an average extent, the position requires writing memos and completing forms and logs. The Sr. Consumer Compliance Analyst is in continual contact with employees inside and outside the department. The person has occasional contact with regulatory agencies, vendors, customers and general public. The extent the contacts influence company operations or company image is significant. Impact on the Company: The effects of errors would be Significant for costs and processes; moderate to the overall company performance; and minor for revenue. In addition to legal/compliance risks that could significantly increase costs for S&T, there is significant strategic risk involving the inability of S&T to engage in mergers and acquisitions and branch openings. Supervision Required: Most work is done independently, without close supervision. Use of Technology: The job requires proficient skill level in the use of a personal computer. Must have a basic skill level in the use of a graphics and telephone equipment. Must possess proficient skill level in the use of a calculator, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and banking systems: BVS, BI, etc. Must have proficient skill level in performing Internet research and other software as assigned such as fair lending, HMDA and CRA systems. Accuracy: Mistakes or errors in judgment would likely be discovered the employee, the supervisor and by regulatory agencies and auditors and their effect would be major. Any corrections to be made would be corrected by the employee. The job has access to confidential information, which includes customer information, legal documents, financial data, internal and external business/trade secrets, subpoenas/court orders and regulatory examination results. The resulting damage should this information be released to the wrong people would be major. The effect of errors could be major relative to costs, image, and reputation. S&T Bank could incur government imposed fines and penalties, which would likely include "look-backs" for up to four years and re-filing of previously submitted reports. Industry fines have been levied in the millions of dollars for an individual bank. These errors may also impact S&T Bank's ability to engage strategically in bank branch expansions, mergers, and acquisitions. Mental Demands: Mental and emotional pressure demands result occasionally from a need for quick decisions and distractions that interfere. There is a continual need to concentrate and understand and apply a broad array of complex rules during operations testing. Frequently, it is necessary to handle a diversity of problems and perform multiple tasks. Physical Demands: 75% of the day is spent operating a keypad device. The primary parts of the body involved in performing these tasks are fingers, thumbs and hands. Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. Use of electronic equipment is required 10% and use of a mouse 20% of the business day. Specific vision requirements include close vision of 18"-20" for computer work. 90% of the business day requires sitting straight and 10% walking at a slow speed.
