Financial Manager - CDGS



Pay Range:



81,455.00 - 90,000.00 / Posted Until: 3-28-2026



Location:



Remote/Virtual - Must work and live in the state of MI





Purpose



This position is responsible for managing the financial operations supporting programmatic work by preparing and monitoring budgets, analyzing accounts, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements while leading and mentoring a team of financial professionals




Duties and Responsibilities




  • Meet regularly with senior leadership to provide updates on financial performance, project progress, and operational concerns.
  • Supervise, instruct, train, evaluate and mentor financial staff to ensure effective financial operations.
  • Manage the development of budgets by preparing, monitoring, and forecasting expenditures and future spending.
  • Develop, review and track Subcontracts, Letters of Agreement and Facility Agreements, communicating with subcontractors, vendors, and customers to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
  • Conduct budget meetings to analyze costs, project future expenditures, and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Oversee the preparation, monitoring, and analysis of budgets to ensure expenditures remain within approved limits and comply with grant requirements.
  • Coordinate the development and amendment of budgets and workplans in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze a variety of financial data to provide strategic guidance and support decision-making.
  • Establish and implement financial processes and protocols to maintain compliance with organizational policies and regulations.
  • Serve as a key liaison with external finance and contracts offices to address complex financial issues and facilitate clear communication.
  • Provide guidance and support to financial analysts to ensure clients receive timely and accurate financial information.
  • Always represent the best interest of MPHI.
  • Additional duties as assigned.




Qualifications/Requirements




  • Bachelor's degree with 3-6 years of experience in financial operations, budgeting, and data analysis
  • Experience in managing financial contracts, forecasting expenditures, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements
  • Experience in supervising, training, and mentoring financial staff preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills to support reporting and financial analysis

  • Lead and motivate financial staff by providing clear direction, mentorship, and performance feedback
  • Apply creative problem solving and critical thinking to troubleshoot financial challenges and manage competing priorities
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional integrity while delivering accurate financial information

Work Environment



This job is performed in an indoor office environment and involves regular use of computers and other standard office equipment. The work environment may include limited exposure to moderate noise levels.



For purposes of employment standards, this classification is "Exempt" from overtime provisions of the fair Labor Standards Act.
