QA Engineer | Full-Time | Grand Rapids, MI or Minneapolis, MN

We are looking for strong QA Engineers who ensures the quality, reliability, and usability of software and hardware products. This role partners closely with engineering, product, and design teams to identify issues early, validate functionality, and continuously improve the end-user experience. You'll combine hands-on testing with thoughtful analysis to help deliver high-quality, dependable products.

What You'll Accomplish


  • Execute manual and exploratory testing across software, mobile applications, and connected hardware products.
  • Identify, document, track, and verify defects using Jira, ensuring clear reproduction steps and effective communication with engineering teams.
  • Write, maintain, and execute test cases and test plans to validate functionality, usability, and edge cases.
  • Perform API testing to validate data integrity, integrations, and system behavior.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers throughout the SDLC to ensure quality is built in from the start.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes.
  • Work independently to investigate issues, validate fixes, and proactively identify risks.


What You'll Bring


  • Experience with manual and exploratory testing of software and, ideally, hardware systems.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with bug tracking and reporting tools, such as Jira.
  • Experience testing mobile applications, including functional and exploratory testing.
  • Ability to write clear, effective test cases and test plans.
  • Experience designing and executing API tests.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage priorities effectively.


Bonus Experience


  • Experience with test automation frameworks or automated testing tools.
  • Experience testing mobile applications for connected or IoT products.


Education


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a QA or software testing role (or equivalent hands-on experience).
