Conflicts Analyst II
Steptoe LLP, an Am Law 100 firm headquartered in Washington, DC, is seeking a Conflicts Analyst II to join its Conflicts & Intake Compliance (CIC) team. This position may be based in the Washington, DC office or filled remotely.

As a key member of the Conflicts & Intake Compliance group, the Conflicts Analyst II supports the firmwide new business intake process, lateral hire and incoming personnel conflicts clearance, and ongoing departmental initiatives. The role interacts regularly with lawyers and professional staff across all domestic and international offices in a fast paced, high responsibility environment. The Conflicts Analyst II serves as a Team Lead to facilitate and coordinate the matter opening workflow and ensure adherence to firm standards and best practices, analyzes conflict reports and collaborates with Conflicts Attorneys and other stakeholders, and participates in training and mentoring of junior staff. Ideal candidates possess exceptional communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical and problem solving abilities, and at least 5 years of conflicts related experience.

Responsibilities:
* Review new matter opening requests for accuracy and consistency with departmental and firm policies; manage and facilitate the matter opening workflow.
* Conduct corporate research and prepare conflict check reports for new matters, incoming personnel (including laterals, attorneys, and staff), and other firm and departmental projects.
* Analyze conflict check results, collaborate with Conflicts Attorneys to resolve potential issues, and prepare clear, concise communications to partners and stakeholders.
* Navigate and develop a thorough understanding of the Intapp Intake/Conflicts system and other technology platforms used within the CIC Department.
* Conduct legal research relating to conflicts of interest and stay current on firm policies and best practices.
* Serve as a resource for firm personnel by answering questions regarding the new business intake process and related policies.
* Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring of junior conflicts staff.
* Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound discretion to ensure compliance with the firm's ethical and business obligations.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree required.
* Minimum 5 years of conflictsrelated experience in a midsized or large law firm.
* Strong facility with law firm business intake and research tools, including Intapp Intake/Conflicts, Moody's (Orbis, Compliance Catalyst, World Compliance), Dun & Bradstreet, LexisNexis, and similar platforms.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure, independently manage competing deadlines, and meet time-sensitive demands.
* Exceptional attention to detail.
* Excellent judgment and strong analytical skills.
* Outstanding oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
* Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to urgent requests outside regular business hours.

Work Environment:
* Non smoking environment.
* Ability to work in the office or remotely during regular business hours, Monday through Friday.
* Availability to work outside regular hours when required.
* Ability to operate under tight deadlines and manage high pressure demands.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $84,000 - $94,000. The actual base salary offered will be dependent upon the applicant's experience and qualifications, as well as other job-related factors, including but not limited to, relevant skills, education, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, geographic location.
