Kalman & Company is seeking to hire a DDS Production Deputy to work onsite in Albany, GA. This position will be supporting a government client.

Location: Albany, GA

Schedule: Mon - Th, 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Fri, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM; Every other Friday off

Position Summary

The DDS Production Deputy's responsibilities involve administrative tasks such as scanning, verifying, entering multi-digit numerical data, troubleshooting, problem solving, ensuring safety and compliance, and managing inventory flow for production in daily operations under the Production Team Lead. Focusing on a smooth and efficient process in asset tracking, they bridge the gap between management and floor staff, coordinating tasks, resolving issues, and ensuring operational targets are met.

Duties and Responsibilities



  • Manage receiving military assets by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Developed knowledge base of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear Defense Individual Protective Equipment (CBRND IPE) material, including types, uses, shelf life and other criteria and be familiar with operation and maintenance of all functional areas in the warehouse.
  • Effectively lead and mentor a team of warehouse technicians, ensuring an efficient and expedient workflow in compliance with written policy and safety protocol.
  • Assist in receiving, processing, disposal and demilitarization of military assets.
  • Provide guidance and feedback on performance to team members ensuring efficient daily operational flow throughout the warehouse
  • Assign tasks, coordinate daily activities, and manage workloads, as needed.
  • Address conflicts and handle employee issues fairly and impartially.
  • Train across functions; provide peer support and knowledge sharing.
  • Complete warehouse operational requirements by following up on employee asset processing, ensuring they confirm quantity of assets according to documentation and note discrepancies with a memorandum of record for each shipment.


  • Ensure Warehouse Management System (WMS) is updated frequently and accurately, ensuring shipments are verified for quantity, location, movement and processing.
  • Reassign warehouse technicians and coordinate with leads in other functional areas to support mission requirements.


  • Produce regular reports and statistics at required intervals, as needed.


  • Identify and investigate discrepancies (NSN/nomenclature, count); recommend corrective actions, provide feedback and effectively communicate with section Team Lead and other internal departments to minimize delays and discrepancies.


  • Verify and upload inbound 1348, generate forwarding 1149, add NSN into EMS.
  • Ensure the health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements



  • US Citizenship is required


  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
  • Leadership: 2 years' leadership experience
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Attention to Detail required
  • Technology: 2+ years Microsoft Office and Excel experience
  • Warehouse: 2+ years warehouse experience


Other Skills and Abilities:

Detail-oriented, Computer skills to include experience working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Ten-Key, any Web Browser and/or Warehouse Management Systems.

Preferred:



  • Knowledge of DoW Body Armor a plus
  • Knowledge of military computer systems a plus
  • Knowledge of military assets preferred

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents; to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to read, speak, and write the English language. Ability to present prepared information to a variety of groups including drivers, employees, and management.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, reading and visual inspection. Required to have visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations.
