Summary
The Quality Manager leads, manages, and directs Dunmore's Quality Management System (QMS) and quality team across two manufacturing sites (Keystone, PA and Brewster, NY). This is a hands-on leadership role for a builder of teams and processes, someone who will establish strong cross-functional relationships, develop operator quality ownership, and serve as the primary quality interface with customers. The Quality Manager is responsible for maintaining and advancing ISO 9001 certification, driving toward AS9100 compliance, owning customer complaint resolution (CCR/8D), leading continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring calibration, inspection, and nonconforming material systems are operating effectively.

This person will elevate quality from a compliance function to a competitive differentiator and cultural cornerstone at Dunmore.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Team & Culture Leadership - Build a high-functioning, accountable QA team across both sites. Develop operator quality knowledge and ownership on the production floor. Create a culture of continuous improvement grounded in data and cross-functional collaboration.
- Quality Management System - Own and maintain Dunmore's QMS including ISO 9001 compliance and AS9100 advancement. Lead internal auditing, management review, documentation control, corrective and preventive action (RCCM/CAR), and KPI analysis. Maintain ISO certification and drive the organization toward AS9100 quality standards.
- Customer-Facing Quality - Serve as the primary quality contact for customers. Lead customer complaint resolution (CCR) and 8D investigations, determine root cause and corrective measures (RCCM), and manage all customer-facing quality communications and documentation. Build and maintain direct quality-to-quality relationships with key customers to enable fast-loop issue resolution. Parter with Technical Services as necessary to ensure full technical understanding of customer complaints. Travel up to 20% as needed to support customer relationships and audits.
- Nonconforming Material & RCCM - Manage the QA hold system, CCR database, and CAR process across both sites. Drive timely dispositioning and closure. Ensure root cause analysis is rigorous and corrective actions are verified for effectiveness.
- Continuous Improvement & Lean - Lead and support CI/Lean initiatives across quality and operations. Apply lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste, improve process flow, and increase yield both in production and quality workflows. Recommend and drive both incremental and substantial process improvements.
- Calibration & Inspection Systems - Oversee test equipment calibration inspection scheduling, and measurement systems. Ensure Gage R&R and MSA practices are in place for critical test methods.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to resolve quality issues, support product launches, and drive systemic improvement. Participate in cross-functional meetings and provide quality input to business decisions.
- Reporting & KPIs - Prepare and communicate quality performance reports, trend analyses, and corrective action status to leadership. Coordinate and monitor Corporate KPIs.
- Safety & Compliance - Promote a safe work environment. Ensure regulatory compliance including hazardous waste disposal in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Education and Experience
- Education & Experience - BS in a technical discipline required. Minimum 7-10 years of experience in quality management and leadership in a manufacturing environment.
- Customer-Facing Experience - Comfortable as the primary quality interface with customers. Experience managing customer complaint processes, conducting customer calls and audits, and building customer relationships.
- Certifications - ISO 9001 experience required. AS9100 experience strongly preferred. ASQ CQE and/or CQM certification (or equivalent body of knowledge) preferred. Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) preferred.
- Quality Tools - Proficiency in root cause analysis methodologies, 8D, RCCM/CAR, Pareto, FMEA, SPC, DOE, and related quality tools required.
- CI/Lean Experience - Demonstrated experience applying CI and lean manufacturing principles in a production environment. Ability to identify waste, improve process flow, and lead improvement projects.
- Multi-Site Management - Preferred
- Industry Background - Experience in flexible substrates, coatings, films, or similar converting/manufacturing environments preferred. Aerospace manufacturing experience a plus.
- Systems - Strong Microsoft Office proficiency required. Experience with Plex MES a plus.
