In the role of Systems Engineer EIT, we'll count on you to: * Support systems engineering activities across major rail and transit projects in North America and Canada. * Assist with requirements management, interface coordination, verification & validation (V&V) and system integration tasks under guidance of senior systems engineers. * Prepare and maintain system documentation, including requirements traceability matrices, interface control documents, and test procedures. * Participate in design reviews, integration planning, and commissioning support activities. * Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and processes as directed. * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of systems and subsystems. * Perform site visits during design, construction, and testing phases as needed. * Demonstrate an attitude and commitment to being an active participant in HDR's employee-owned culture. Preferred Qualifications
* INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certification. * Familiarity with Python * Exposure to rail or transit systems projects. * Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., IBM DOORS, Cameo, Jama, etc.) and MBSE concepts. * Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation. * Prior internship or co-op experience in systems engineering or transportation projects. * Knowledge of INCOSE systems engineering principles. * Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or related Engineering discipline. * Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
