THE POSITION

The Department of Agriculture is looking for candidates to fill Livestock Worker positions at Chester Downs Racetrack. In this role, you will assist Veterinarians in handling horses and recording sample data. Livestock Workers play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with the rules and regulations set by the Pennsylvania State Horse Racing Commission.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Livestock Worker 1 role involves overseeing designated horses, gathering urine samples, and packaging them according to established protocols. This position requires maintaining constant observation of the horses by the Farm Worker and completing all necessary records and documentation. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- This is a permanent part-time position.
- Typical work schedule is 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM, Wednesday - Friday and Sunday.
- You will work closely with vendors and work hours may change based on vendor availability.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Experience in general farm work; and such training as may have been gained through completion of the eighth school grade; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Post Employment Requirement:
- This position will require possession of a Commission Employee License once hired.

- Experience working with and around horses
