Job Title: Medical Records Assistant Duration: 12+ Months, would be extension Location: LaBelle, PA 15450 Mode: Onsite Shift: 1st Shift - 07:00-15:30. Payrate: $20/hr on w2 Benefits: Yes Job Description: This position involves specialized clerical work in the preparation, classification, and abstracting of medical reports. The Medical Records Assistant assists in initiating and maintaining medical records by preparing and typing medical reports, abstracts, and summaries, and reviewing and processing medical records to ensure accuracy and completeness. Responsibilities include coding physicians' diagnoses using standardized codes such as those in the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) system. The position requires a high level of accuracy and proficiency within established methods and procedures. Work is performed under the supervision of a Medical Records Technician, Medical Records Director, Cancer Registry Specialist, or Cancer Registry Administrator. Required Qualifications: One (1) year of clerical experience in a medical records department of a hospital, ambulatory acute medical care setting, or licensed nursing facility, which includes at least six (6) months of experience under the direction of a registered Medical Records Technician or Administrator; and Graduation from high school; or Graduation from a medical secretarial or medical records program; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
