Title: CNC Machinist (Manufacturing/Aerospace)
Location: Glendale, AZ 85307
Duration: Direct hire
Payrate: $22.00-24.00/hr. on W2 with full benefits
Shift Hours:
3rd Sunday night - Thursday night- 11pm - 7am (training on 1st shift 7am - 3pm
for a couple of weeks)
Pre Screen Questions:
- Describe your hands-on experience with manual lathes and mills. Which materials have you worked with, and what typical part sizes and operations did you perform?
- How you interpret the information, choose tooling, fixture the work, establish zero, processing, and verify dimensions.
- How do you determine cutting speeds and feeds for different materials and tooling? Walk me through how you pick rpm, feed per revolution, depth of cut, and how you adjust when things change (e.g., work-hardening, chatter, tool wear).
- Which inspection and measuring tools are you proficient with? If a measurement/inspection caught an issue and how would you resolve it
- Do you have a copy/transcript of your HSD/Educational document?
Role & Responsibilities:
- Machinist is responsible for operating one or more production machines working from blueprints, sketches, and route sheets
- Perform repetitive machine operations (including reworking parts) such as cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, reaming and smoothing parts. Make minor adjustments and report improper machine functioning, or cutting action, to team for correction and improvement.
- Set feeds, speeds and depth of cut to machine quality parts.
- Perform operations such as reaming, tapping, spot-facing, chamfering, countersinking, and counterboring.
- Visually inspect parts for burrs and damaged machine surfaces.
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks, cracks or other irregularities from machined parts.
- Align and fasten parts using standard fixtures where established methods are followed.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of machine shop experience or demonstrated ability.
- Ability to read blueprints and work instructions.
- Manual dexterity, basic machine shop math skills, and effective communication.
- Team-oriented with the ability to work well with others.
