At First Mid, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of discretionary short-term incentives (i.e. bonus, incentives, and/or commission). As a Commercial Loan Clerk, you will provide administrative and clerical support for the Loan Operations department. This role is responsible for payment processing, data entry, documentation, records maintenance, customer support, and daily operational support functions across a variety of commercial loan products. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced office environment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepares and completes Paid Note Statement including releases of titles and preparation of mortgage releases, which may include electronic recording as applicable.
- Prepares payoff statements, automatic payment additions, and adjust fee and interest.
- Accurate and timely processing of various types of payments, including but not limited to electronic transfers, ACH transactions, wire transfers, and check disbursements.
- Verify payment details, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Address discrepancies or issues related to payments promptly and effectively.
- Generate and distribute recurring and ad hoc reports to assist with the monitoring of payment trends, transaction volumes, and other key metrics.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all reports, adhering to established deadlines.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure payments are accurate.
- Perform high-volume data entry and maintain accurate loan records and documentation within the loan servicing system.
- Provide professional customer service and administrative support to internal departments, branch staff, and customers via phone and email.
- Utilizes available resources to identify, research, and resolve routine customer issues.
- Complete required training specific to job responsibility.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- High School Education or equivalent.
- 1+ years of administrative, clerical, office support, customer service, operations support, or banking experience preferred
Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Detailed information must be handled in an accurate, timely and confidential manner.
