Job Description




As a Security Officer - Main Entrance Screening in Kansas City, KS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will help manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, and support visitor and contractor processing. You will remain visible, conduct routine rounds as assigned, document security-related activity, and communicate clearly with site teams. Guided by our agile, reliable, and innovative approach, you will deliver through teamwork, act with integrity, and provide a people-first experience.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial chemical location.
  • Control access at gates and/or checkpoints by verifying identification, issuing and collecting visitor credentials, and directing authorized visitors, contractors, and employees according to site rules.
  • Screen and log inbound and outbound vehicle traffic, deliveries, and shipments by checking documentation, inspecting for required authorizations, and communicating irregularities to site contacts per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting events, and supporting arriving responders as directed by site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, adjacent areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized entry, report maintenance concerns, and complete required reports.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
