Asphalt Milling Machine Operator

The Milling Operator is responsible for preparing job sites and operating asphalt milling machines and related equipment for roadway projects. Performs asphalt removal, assists with surface installation, completes manual tasks such as raking and sweeping, and conducts routine maintenance on equipment and tools.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Inspecting machinery: Before operating asphalt machinery, checks the machinery for any issues and reports them to their supervisor
• Uses spray paint, string, and concrete or water mixes, and lays out guidelines for curbs
• Operates machines to spread, smooth, level, or steel-reinforce asphalt, concrete, or stone on road beds.
• Monitors and controls temperature settings of asphalt mixture and is responsible for regulating the flow of asphalt materials.
• Operates the equipment in a straight line at the correct speed based on truck material delivery
• May perform general Asphalt labor duties
