The Department of Academic Affairs at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health is seeking a Program Assistant. The DSIP Program Assistant provides basic administrative and operational support for a specific program within a department. The Program Assistant supports the planning and daily operations of the program.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide support for outreach activities and internal events; assist with preparation of materials, set-up and breakdown, and participate as needed at events and activities.
  • Assist with data entry, report production, and basic analysis of program results.
  • Assist with development and distribution of program communications.
  • Respond to or elevate questions and provide customer service through email and by phone.
  • Contact service personnel or other resources for program needs.
  • Monitor supply inventory and order supplies.
  • Operate and coordinate the servicing of office equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

In addition to the duties described above

  • The Program Assistant is responsible for supporting the residential portion of the Diversity Summer Internship Program.
  • Reside in Charles Commons for the duration of the program (May 31st- July28, 2026)
  • Coordinate and provide support for interns throughout the week from 6 pm-11pm.
  • Participate in the management of student behavior issues in the residence halls by responding to incidents, meeting with students, and pursuing appropriate action.
  • Work closely with Housing services as well as housekeeping staff to promote a safe and clean-living environment.
  • Conduct sessions on topics pertaining to personal & professional development with DSIP Director Support.
  • Administrative tasks and program planning.
  • Meets with interns throughout the summer to offer support.
  • Review assignment submissions and provide feedback including the final research paper.
  • Responsible to abide by all JHU policies including, but not limited to, code of conduct, ethics, housing, substance use, and Title IX as well as DSIP's policies.


Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or graduation equivalent.
  • Six months of related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high schooldiploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Technical Qualifications & Specialized Certifications
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
