Your Title: Engineering Project Manager

Job Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Our Department: Core GNSS

Drive High-Precision Innovation as our next Engineering Project Manager!

Ready to make a tangible impact on global industries using cutting-edge, high-precision GNSS technology? Trimble is looking for a passionate, aggressive problem-solver to lead cross-functional teams in bringing world-class hardware and firmware solutions from inception through to volume production and global shipments!

About the Core GNSS Group

Trimble's Core GNSS group is the powerhouse behind the company's world-leading positioning technology, developing the high-precision engines that drive industries like construction, agriculture, and geospatial surveying. This team designs and builds the advanced hardware and firmware found in iconic integrated receivers like the R980 and Alloy, utilizing signals from all global satellite constellations (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou). By pioneering breakthrough technologies such as ProPoint and tilt compensation, the group ensures centimeter-level accuracy even in the most challenging environments. Our work provides the essential "digital-to-physical" bridge that enables autonomous machines and precise layout workflows worldwide.

About Us

Trimble is a global technology company that connects the physical and digital worlds, transforming the ways work gets done. With relentless innovation in precise positioning, modeling and data analytics, Trimble enables essential industries including construction, geospatial and transportation. Whether it's helping customers build and maintain infrastructure, design and construct buildings, optimize global supply chains or map the world, Trimble is at the forefront, driving productivity and progress.

What Makes This Role Great:

In this role, you will be the "glue" that holds our product development projects together, moving beyond simple coordination to actively driving the development process and volume production of high-precision GNSS receivers. You'll have the unique opportunity to work directly with a team of "visionary pragmatists" in Sunnyvale, owning the success of multiple high-impact projects that directly influence how the world moves and builds.

Key Exciting Responsibilities

  • Spearhead cross-functional teams consisting of skilled hardware, firmware, QA engineers, production personnel, and marketing professionals to drive projects from initial inception to volume production.

  • Own the project lifecycle by establishing comprehensive schedules and budgets, ensuring every milestone is met with precision.

  • Act as a proactive problem-solver, identifying bottlenecks early and "getting in the weeds" with engineering and manufacturing to keep delivery on track.

  • Champion clear communication by presenting project status versus plan to executive leadership, ensuring alignment across the global network.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Technical Foundation: You hold a BSEE or BSCS degree with hands-on development experience in a high-tech environment.

  • Project Mastery: You have 5+ years of dedicated project management experience, with a proven track record of building complex schedules in MS Project or Smartsheets.

  • Hardware & Manufacturing Savvy: You possess a deep understanding of hardware product development processes and how they transition into volume manufacturing.

  • Aggressive Problem Solver: You are a "doer" who takes initiative to resolve technical bottlenecks and drive results.

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience specifically with GNSS receiver technology or high-precision positioning.

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.

Logistics

  • Location: Sunnyvale, CA, In Office.

  • Travel Requirement: Available for limited and preplanned travel, seldom internationally, to support project planning as well as to support builds at contract manufacturers.
