OVERVIEW

A Data Technician plays a crucial role in managing and organizing data within the Precision Agriculture Department. The responsibilities include collecting, compiling, and entering data into databases, ensuring its accuracy and completeness. Maintain and manage data systems, performing regular tests and backups to ensure data security and integrity. Data Technician could also analyze and interpret data sets to support the departments' initiatives, identify and correct data entry errors, and adhere to data compliance and security policies. Additionally, troubleshoot technical issues related to data systems, create data reports, and provide insights based on their analyses. This work will contribute to ensure that data is accurate, secure, and useful for decision-making within the organization.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Data Entry and Management: Collecting, compiling, and entering data into databases.Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the data.
  • Data Quality Control: Identifying and correcting data entry errors using appropriate quality control methods.
  • Database Maintenance: Maintaining and managing data systems to ensure they meet company requirements.This includes performing regular tests and backups to ensure data security and integrity.
  • Collaboration: Working with team members and management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Compliance: Adhering to data compliance and security policies in line with company and legal requirements.
  • Technical Support: Troubleshooting technical issues related to data systems and performing data backups and recovery.
  • Documentation: keep records of all the data and system corrective events and issues.



EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS



  • Minimum requirement for entry-level positions is associate degree in data science, computer science, information systems, engineering, horticulture, agronomy or a related field.
  • Preferable Bachelor's Degree



EXPERIENCE



  • Experience with data entry, data cleaning, and data management tasks.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, data analysis tools, and possibly some programming languages.

  • Data Entry and Management: Proficiency in entering, updating, and managing data accurately.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with data-related software like Microsoft Excel, Access, or ArcMap or other data management tools.
  • Attention to Detail.
  • Effectively communicating findings and collaborating with team members.
  • Managing and organizing large volumes of data efficiently.
  • Strong analytical and detail-oriented aptitude; a high degree of accuracy is required
  • Excellent problem-solving and quantitative skills
  • Candidate should be a proactive self-starter; strong collaboration skills and high accountability standards required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
