Join Johns Hopkins Health System as an Executive Director of Digital Strategy & Experience. The Executive Director is responsible for defining and advancing Johns Hopkins Medicine's digital experience strategy and digital front door. This leader will oversee the development and optimization of digital platforms, marketing technology, and digital products to improve how patients, providers, and other audiences access information, services, and care.

Working closely with marketing, IT, and enterprise leadership, the Executive Director will drive the integration of digital solutions, data, and emerging technologies to strengthen engagement, support growth objectives, and improve operational efficiency. The role requires a strategic leader who understands the evolving digital landscape and can guide a multidisciplinary team in delivering innovative, high-quality digital experiences across the organization.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Digital Experience Strategy and Transformation



  • Develop and execute a comprehensive digital experience strategy and roadmap to align with the system's strategic goals.
  • Partner and co-lead the strategy and implementation of Johns Hopkins Medicine's digital front door, integrating digital discovery, physician search, scheduling, and patient access capabilities.
  • Identify and evaluate new technologies that can be leveraged to create innovative solutions or improve existing processes, with a particular focus on AI tools and applications for marketing and customer experience.


Growth Marketing Support



  • Partners with the Executive Director of Marketing to support the business objectives for strategic growth.
  • Develops the vision and roadmap for digital products, such as websites, mobile apps, employee, and patient portals, ensuring they align with business objectives.
  • Lead customer segmentation, targeting, and positioning strategies to maximize personalization and adapt JHM's digital presence to segment consumer audience reach and engagement.


Oversee online physician profile strategy and related tactics/maintenance. Marketing Technology Infrastructure and Integration



  • Manage the digital technology ecosystem, ensuring it supports overall marketing objectives.
  • Guide change management efforts and ensures best practices in the adoption of new technologies and processes.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the company's website and other digital properties to ensure optimal user experience.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of Intranet sites across the enterprise.
  • Serve as a champion for AI training and execution, identifying opportunities for AI integration across marketing functions, developing training programs, and overseeing the implementation of AI-driven solutions.
  • Collaborate with IT, legal, and compliance to ensure adherence to privacy, accessibility, and other regulated standards.


In collaboration with Marketing, drive decision making and adoption of data solutions to nurture and accelerate growth, including but not limited to CDP, CRM, and related AI solutions. Team Leadership and Development



  • Develop and implement a strategy for AI-enabled marketing and content operations, ensuring Hopkins content remains discoverable, authoritative, and optimized for emerging AI search environments.
  • Establish clear performance goals for the team and monitor progress, fostering a collaborative work environment.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE



  • 10+ years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, digital strategy, or customer experience, including 5-7 years of leadership responsibility.
  • Healthcare experience preferred; broader experience in agency or other digital-forward industries welcomed.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field required; master's degree preferred.


SKILLS



  • Deep expertise in digital marketing, digital experience, and digital strategy, ideally within healthcare or similarly regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory considerations including privacy, accessibility, and compliance.
  • Broad knowledge of the marketing technology ecosystem with the ability to build and scale best-in-class digital capabilities.
  • Experience evaluating and implementing emerging technologies to drive innovation and operational improvement, including interest or experience in AI applications within marketing.
  • Technical fluency across digital platforms including websites, UX/UI, and web development processes.
  • Strategic and data-driven leader who uses analytics and performance metrics to guide decision making and digital roadmaps.


Salary Range: Minimum 234,911.00/annually - Maximum 300,284.00/annually. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
