Software Engineer Staff

Location: REMOTE

Annual Compensation: $ 115,000.00 per year

Acts independently under general direction. Top level technical expert in one or more highly specialized phases of software systems programming. Provides technical consulting on complex projects. Formulates and defines specifications for complex software development or modifies/maintains complex existing applications using engineering releases and utilities from the manufacturer. Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation. Requires full technical knowledge of all phases of software. Responsible for instructing, directing, and checking the work of other software systems programming personnel. May have quality assurance review and/or new and existing software product evaluation responsibilities.

Summary/Responsibilities:

  • Design, code, and test a variety of custom business applications.
  • Work with peers to develop end-to-end testing and quality assurance procedures and plans.
  • Discuss business requirements with business analysts, end-users, and management, and develop these into technical requirements and specifications.
  • Mentor employees, conduct performance evaluations, counsel and provide disciplinary actions to assigned personnel, and works to facilitate individual and team development that drives positive results.
  • Champion affirmative action efforts in all aspects of employment, including but not limited to staffing, training, promotion, etc.

Qualifications

Education & Industry Experience:

  • 10+ years experience in software engineering.
  • 4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience required Skills
  • Experience in designing and developing web, client-server, or n-tier business applications.
  • Extensive hands-on data modeling/data design experience, and relational database experience including SQL queries and reporting. Experience developing applications in one or more component and service-based architectures (.NET, COM/DCOM, J2EE, CORBA, etc.).
  • Proven Experience with each of the following areas: C#, ASP.NET, ADO.NET and SQL 2000, converting classic ASP into ASP.NET, HTML, HTTP, XML/Web Services, .Net Remoting, BizTalk, MSMQ, and high-performance scalable transaction system programming a plus.
  • Plumtree Portal development experience a plus. Ability to adapt to rapidly evolving programming environments.
  • Ability to manage and enhance existing solutions.
  • Ability to efficiently develop detailed technical specifications from higher level designs. Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
