Saint Louis University's Anesthesiologist Assistant Program seeks a part-time Director of Clinical Education (0.4 FTE) to coordinate and oversee clinical education activities for graduate students in the Master of Health Science in Anesthesiologist Assistant program. This position plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality clinical experiences and maintaining strong relationships with clinical partners and preceptors. Key Responsibilities: Clinical Rotation Management Coordinate and schedule all clinical rotations for students across multiple hospital sites and specialty areas with Program Director Develop and maintain clinical rotation schedules to ensure equitable learning experiences and compliance with program requirements Serve as liaison between the academic program and clinical sites Monitor student clinical assignments and make adjustments as needed to optimize learning opportunities Clinical Evaluation and Assessment Oversee clinical evaluation processes using CORE ELMS (Clinical Outcomes Registry Exchange Evaluation and Longitudinal Monitoring System) Train and support clinical preceptors in the use of CORE ELMS and evaluation methodologies Monitor student clinical performance through regular review of evaluations and competency assessments Identify students requiring additional support or remediation in clinical settings Analyze evaluation data to identify trends and opportunities for curriculum improvement Preceptor Relations and Development Recruit, onboard, and maintain relationships with clinical preceptors and supervising anesthesiologists Provide ongoing faculty development and support for clinical educators Conduct site visits to clinical partners to ensure quality educational experiences Address preceptor concerns and facilitate communication between clinical and academic faculty Compliance and Documentation Ensure compliance with ARC-AA accreditation standards for clinical education Maintain accurate records of clinical experiences, evaluations, and student competencies Prepare clinical education reports for program administration and accreditation purposes Oversee clinical affiliation agreements and documentation Required Qualifications: National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA) certification in good standing Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a practicing Anesthesiologist Assistant Current Missouri state licensure or ability to obtain licensure Demonstrated proficiency with electronic learning management systems and database management Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders including students, faculty, and clinical partners Preferred Qualifications: Experience in clinical education, precepting, or academic teaching Prior experience with CORE ELMS or similar clinical evaluation platforms Knowledge of ARC-AA accreditation standards and processes Experience in curriculum development or assessment Familiarity with multiple anesthesia clinical settings and subspecialties Position Details: FTE: 0.4 (part-time) on site Reports to: Program Director, Anesthesiologist Assistant Program Location: Saint Louis University School of Medicine Function Nonmedical Primary Appointment 12 mo.Scheduled Weekly Hours: 16Saint Louis University is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
