KPMG is currently seeking a FinOps Practitioner to join our Digital Nexus technology organization. This is a hybrid work opportunity.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify and execute technical cost-saving opportunities through rightsizing, Reserved Instance/Savings Plan management, workload modernization, and automation
  • Apply deep technical expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), including pricing models, billing structures, and optimization strategies; Leverage FinOps tools such as CloudHealth, Cloudability, Flexera CCM, AWS Cost Explorer, and Azure Cost Management to monitor and optimize cloud costs
  • Implement automation for cost reporting and optimization workflows; demonstrate architectural understanding of cost drivers for core services (compute, storage, database, serverless) and implement workload modernization strategies
  • Regularly log into Azure, AWS, and GCP portals to track and monitor cost anomalies, variances, and trends; proactive in identifying misalignments with expected costs and escalate discrepancies promptly to ensure financial accountability and adherence to budget forecasts
  • Utilize advanced financial modeling and business acumen to build models, interpret data, and provide actionable recommendations that drive cost optimization and strategic improvements; perform detailed financial analysis for technology evaluation, risk analytics, and alignment with future-state architecture and strategic initiatives
  • Present modeling results and insights to executive leadership for informed decision-making; collaborate with engineering, finance, and sourcing teams to ensure requirements are met, while working on vendor agreements and monitoring compliance with contractual obligations
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
Qualifications:
  • Minimum five years of practical experience in cloud financial management, cost optimization, and FinOps practices across multi-cloud environments
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Computer Science, IT, or related field is preferred
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge in AWS, Azure, and GCP, including cost monitoring, anomaly detection, and usage analysis through cloud portals
  • Strong knowledge of cloud pricing models and cost drivers for compute, storage, networking, and serverless services; Proficiency with FinOps tools (CloudHealth, Cloudability, AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management)
  • Experience with automation and scripting (Python, PowerShell) for reporting and cost optimization workflows; advanced Excel skills for data analysis
  • Ability to build dashboards and reports connected to AWS CUR, Azure Cost Management exports, and GCP BigQuery billing tables, including row-level security, scheduled refresh, and cost-trend visualizations
