Onsite - Salt Lake City, UT The Moog Defense Sector is looking fora Field Service Representative/Technician in Salt Lake City, UT. This role provides technical support and on-site repair/diagnostic services at customer locations CONUS/OCONUS, including potentially austere environments. The position supports system end-users, industry partners, and customers by delivering hands on technical expertise, equipment operation training, and field servicing of Moog designed products. When not deployed, the FSR/Technician performs a variety of technical tasks in support of Moog's Defense Sector programs. These include mechanical/electrical assembly, prototype and production build support, integration and testing activities, troubleshooting, equipment operation, repair tasks, and technical documentation. The role serves as a key interface between field users and Moog engineering and program teams, ensuring high-quality customer support and valuable feedback for product improvements. To be considered for the Field Service Representative role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
  • Work requires advanced knowledge of the job, including the practical application of specialized methods and techniques. This knowledge is typically acquired through (1) a secondary school qualification (i.e., a HS diploma, GED, etc. in the US) or basic vocational/technical education in related discipline and (2) a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Prior experience working as a Field Service Representative, Field Service Technician, A&T, or comparable hands-on technical role.
  • Experience working in challenging or austere environments, either through defense contracting, military service, or equivalent technical field assignments.
  • Technical training or trade school education in electrical, avionics, weapon systems, or related areas.
  • Strong mechanical assembly, blueprint/schematic reading, and equipment operation capabilities
  • Skilled in troubleshooting, test procedures, inspection practices, and the use of hand/power tools.
  • Ability to quickly learn Moog products and systems even when documentation production quantities are limited.
  • Demonstrated communication skills for working effectively with technical and non-technical customers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Valid US Driver License, and the ability to obtain a US Government Secret Security Clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with Mobile-Low, slow, small-unmanned aircraft Integrated Defeat System (MLIDS) or similar defense-related systems.
  • Experience with crew-served weapons, medium caliber weapons, guided rockets, remote weapon systems, or related platforms.
As an Field Service Representative you will be responsible to:
  • Assess, diagnose, and respond to system or product issues in a timely,professional manner
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting using mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills to identify root causes and propose solutions.
  • Train personnel in the safe and effective operation, maintenance, and basic servicing of Moog hardware and systems.
  • Support field installations, maintenance, repairs, retrofits, ATPs and otherservice-related activities at customer's facilities or field locations
  • Inspect and verify completed field work to ensure proper assembly, adherence to specifications, and equipment integrity
  • Provide clear communication and detailed technical feedback to engineering, program management, and leadership teams.
  • Prepare appropriate spares, tools, and support equipment required for field servicing operations.
  • Document field experiences, system performance trends, and potential misuse or reliability issues based on service history and observations.
  • Represent Moog professionally in interactions with customers and stakeholders, providing solutions to technical challenges and ensuring high-quality support.
  • Participate in issue tracking, continuous improvement efforts, and knowledge sharing with internal teams.

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
