What to Expect
As an Engineering Technician on Tesla's Optimus Service team,you'llcollaborate with some of the most brilliant technicians and engineers globallyto maximize uptime for our fleet of humanoid robots. Yourexpertisewill help drive innovation,identifyareas for improvement, and ensure the reliability and performance of our products.Your attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to think critically will be essential inidentifyingand resolving complex technical issues. To succeed in this role, you must be a team player with excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a passion for innovation. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities, and thriving in ambiguity.The successful candidate for this position must have a broad background in mechatronics, industrial, and/or automotive maintenance. Must be a self-starter and able problem solve independently.

What You'll Do
  • Conductdiagnostic tests onOptimus robots and associated parts toidentifyfaults and repair quickly and efficiently
  • Collaborate withengineers to develop and execute test plans, procedures, and protocols tovalidate performance and reliability
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including design, reliability, andengineering, toidentifyand resolve technical issues and improve product design
  • Provide clear and concise documentation ofmaintenance protocolsand technical issues to support data-driven decision making
  • Maintain a high standard of organization and safety in the lab, including inventory management, tooling, and equipment maintenance
  • Identifyopportunities for process improvements and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity
  • You may travel to support lab expansion andmaintenanceactivitiesin theBay Area and/or global Tesla facilities

What You'll Bring
  • 3+ years oftechnicalexperience in robotics, automotive service, manufacturing, or equivalent
  • Previoushands-on experience with high voltage systems, wire harnesses, mechanical components, electro-mechanical devices, soldering irons, wire crimping tools, multi-meters, and oscilloscopes
  • Familiar and comfortable with soldering iron/tweezers,hot air, handtoolsand some power tools
  • Previousexperience withwire harnesses: connectors, contact terminals, ground terminals, cables,clipsand taping.Able to read electrical schematics/harness drawings and create a harness from scratch
  • Analytical problem solvingandroot cause analysisskills
  • Able and willing to lift 50lbs.
  • Valid driver's licenserequired

    Expected Compensation
    $24.40 - $65.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
