  • UT Health Pittsburg offers 25 private rooms, a 24-hour Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center, surgical suites, advanced diagnostics, a sleep lab, wound healing center, swing bed care, 16 physician offices and a UT Health East Texas Olympic Center fitness facility.

Responsibilities

  • The Patient Care Tech (PCT) works in partnership with the licensed nurse to support the
  • delivery of care in a safe patient environment that promotes caring and healing.
  • The PCT demonstrates basic knowledge and skills necessary to communicate appropriately and carry out
  • delegated tasks for age specific populations under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
    He/she
    records data as directed by policy and procedure, and reports observations and patient concerns to
  • the licensed nurse.
  • The Patient Care Technician is responsible for assigned non-nursing functions.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of approved CNA or PCT certification required or may be in senior year of nursing school with less than one semester to complete the nursing program.
    • For Emergency room departments - completion of an approved EMT Basic certification may be substituted for CNA/PCT certification.
    • Must maintain active certification within the State of Texas.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • 2- year experience in acute care hospital or long-term care facility.
