The Opportunity

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a Digital Content Specialist to join the Information Technology department in a teleworking arrangement. The Digital Content Specialist is responsible for the production of digital content on university websites and digital properties. Reporting to the Director of Web Content, the Digital Content Specialist will manage web content requests and implement web changes on the University's external and internal websites and manage content for university digital signage.

The Digital Content Specialist works closely with web designers, web developers, SEO specialists and analytics analysts to ensure that website content can reach the intended audience, provide consistent user experience and convey information in a clear and accessible manner. The Digital Content Specialist will partner with internal stakeholders to obtain all content requirements and assets while educating and guiding them on how to align content with university web content standards and digital best practices.

The Digital Content Specialist will manage and schedule content for digital signage on our campuses, ensuring that the signs remain up-to-date and reflect the university's brand standards. Primary Job Functions, Duties, and Accountabilities

  • Maintain, review, approve, and enhance web content across Embry-Riddle's external and internal websites and digital platforms.

  • Oversee the creation, layout, and updates of new and existing web pages.

  • Manage and coordinate content for campus digital signage.

  • Optimize all digital content for usability, search engine performance, and accessibility compliance.

  • Utilize the IT ticketing system to manage, prioritize, and complete web-related tasks and requests.

Qualifications

Required Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, New Media, Computer Science, or a related field.

Required Experience

  • 1-3 years of work-related experience in digital content management, web development, or a related field.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience in digital content creation and hands-on experience with content management systems.

  • Effective and clear communicator, comfortable managing relationships with stakeholders.

  • Detail-oriented and quality-driven, committed to producing the highest quality digital content to represent Embry-Riddle.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and requests with varying deadlines.

  • Knowledge of web usability and accessibility best practices.

  • Experience with Sitecore, SharePoint Online, Adobe Creative Suite, and digital signage software is a plus.

Job Parameters

  • May require work outside of normal business hours, including participation in an on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend support to address high-priority content updates.

  • Travel to the Daytona Beach campus once per year to attend the Information Technology team retreat.
