Position Overview:

Henry Ford Health is seeking a dedicated, full-time Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our cohesive and mission-driven team at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital - Warren Campus. This role focuses exclusively on providing compassionate, patient-centered palliative care across inpatient settings. The ideal candidate is Palliative Care-certified or committed to obtaining certification within two years, demonstrates strong communication skills, and is passionate about improving quality of life for patients and families. New graduate NPs with a strong interest in palliative care are welcome to apply.

Schedule - Full-Time, 40 hours per week. Monday - Friday.

Weekend requirement - No.

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Specialty/Invasive Nurse Practitioner (NP) will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The Specialty/Invasive NP will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to patients and their families. Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care. Works in collaboration with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently. Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience. Works in one of the following departments: Cardiovascular Medicine, Emergency Medicine, ICU, Interventional Radiology, Nephrology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Surgery, Urgent Care, Urology. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Master's degree in nursing. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner. Current State license as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS. Current ACLS/ATLS/PALS provider status as required by department.

Qualifications:

* NP - Completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)

* NP - Certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan

Licensure and Certification

* Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Michigan, or in process of applying (must have proof of application)

* National certification as an NP

* Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification

* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required by

* DEA/CSL, required through credentialing.

DEA - NPs do not have controlled substance licenses, only PAs. When NPs apply, they will enter MI license number instead of controlled substance license since they won't have a CSL.

Experience

* PC Certified, preferred.
