Summary

The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Internship will allow the successful candidate to greatly enhance their real-life experiences and learn modern skillsets within the field that they are studying. It is an outstanding opportunity to get hands-on experience in the manufacturing EHS environment and understanding and executing how EHS is applied to the working environment to improve overall plant safety and health.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct hazard analysis and implementing controls to reduce risk and integrate safe work practices into food manufacturing operations
  • Support programs which ensure regulatory compliance
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of site-wide environmental, health and safety program which promote employee health and safety and prevent work-related injuries and disease
  • Conduct inspections and assessments
  • Provide technical assistance
  • Coach and train employees on environmental, health and safety requirements
  • Partner directly with leaders in various departments to optimize site safety processes and advise, recommend, and implement effective corrective actions
  • Analyze current operational processes; develop and implement ideas for improvement
  • Ensure compliance to regulations and Chobani standards
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Enrolled in Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Engineering, Manufacturing, Safety, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health, or Industrial Hygiene related field
  • Strong written and verbal skills, good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Possesses interest in working in manufacturing safety
  • Experience working both independently and, in a team oriented, collaborative environment
  • Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Students with a minimum of one year of major specific classes, preferred
  • On their feet and walking for long periods of time
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs occasionally
  • Be in hot and humid environments around hazardous chemicals
  • Climb stairs and ladders to access work areas
  • Ability to speak, write and understand English
