Make your mark for patients

UCB is seeking a driven and mission-focused Field Access Specialist (FAS) to join our Market Access - Access & Reimbursement team. In this pivotal, field-based role, you will help ensure that patients can obtain timely access to our innovative biologic therapies. The South Texas territory will include the major cities of San Antonio, Houston, Corpus Cristi and Victoria. Candidates need to reside within this geography.

About the role

The Field Access Specialist (FAS) ensures that eligible patients can obtain UCB therapies by helping healthcare providers navigate complex payer, access, and reimbursement requirements across all types of care settings. This non-promotional role supports UCB Immunology treatments by serving as a knowledgeable, field-based expert on insurance benefits, payer policies, affordability programs, and patient support services.

While this is an individual contributor role, the FAS is relied upon as an informal leader-collaborating with cross-functional partners across UCB to share insights, shape strategy, and strengthen patient access pathways. You will work to the highest UCB professional and compliance standards, making a true impact on patients' lives through strategic problem-solving and partnership.

What you'll do:

  • Account and access management: Analyze office workflows, payer dynamics, and patient barriers; tailor solutions for each site of care; and support staff in resolving access and reimbursement challenges.
  • Problem solving and patient pull-through: Monitor data to identify treatment delays and coordinate with the hub and internal partners to quickly resolve case-specific issues and prevent future barriers.
  • Provider education: Train HCP offices on benefit verification, prior authorization, appeals, payer requirements, and use of UCB patient support resources.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Market Access, Patient Services, Medical Affairs, HUB case managers, and other internal teams to share insights, align strategy, and improve patient access processes.

Who you'll work with

  • Commercial teams consisting of District Sales Leads, Clinical Account Specialists, Ecosystem Partnership Leads and Thought Leader Liaisons.
  • Patient Services, including Operations and Marketing.
  • Market Access teams, such as National and Downstream Account Executives, Payer Strategy, Specialty Pharmacy Account Executives, Channel/Trade, Analytics, and HEOR.
  • Ethics, Legal, HR, and Digital Technology, including Legal, Compliance, and Data Privacy.
  • I2I/Patient Impact and corporate support, such as CRM/Veeva teams, UCBCares, and government relations.
  • Medical Affairs, including Medical Science Liaisons and Medical Outcomes Liaisons.

Interested? For this position you'll need the following education, experience and skills:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 8 years of bio-pharmaceutical experience in roles such as Market Access, Sales, Sales Leadership, Regional Trainer, MSL, TLL, Ecosystem Lead, Marketing, Patient Services Account Management OR public or private third-party Reimbursement experience working in organizations such as Specialty Pharmacy, Academic Medical Center/IDN, Hub Service Vendor, Healthcare Provider office setting.
  • Must have a fully valid and unrestricted driver's license.
  • Ability to travel and cover geography, up to 75% travel, based on geography and territory/targeting make up.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree.
  • 4 years of Coverage/Access and/or Reimbursement/Account Management experience (work experience could encompass related experience such as PharmD, Specialty Pharmacy, Payor Policy, Federal/State Government).
  • Demonstrated advanced leadership responsibilities within current role.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience in Rare Diseases, Oncology, Immunology.
  • Experience working with HUBs for patient referrals, benefit verifications, coverage, access and affordability for medications with specialty pharmacy benefits.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the complex US and State regulatory environment.
  • Excellent working knowledge of evolving US Payer coverage, access, reimbursement and the healthcare provider practice, institutional or systems' access management environment.
  • Knowledge of Managed Care, Government, and Federal Payer sectors as well as Integrated Delivery Network/Integrated Health Systems.
  • Knowledge of Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) policies and processes with expertise in Medicare Parts B and D (Medical and Pharmacy Benefit design and coverage policy).

This position's reasonably anticipated salary range is $120,800-158,600 annually. The actual salary offered will consider internal equity and may also vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
