We currently have an opening for an Inspection Technician, the final gatekeeper ensuring our high-precision components meet the most demanding standards.

Hours & Pay

Pay Rate: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Training Shift: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (during training period)

What You'll Be Doing (Daily Responsibilities)



  • Perform receiving, first-piece, in-process, and final inspections on precision CNC-machined components.
  • Use precision hand tools - micrometers (down to 0.0001"), bore gauges, thread gauges, optical comparators, height stands, pin & plug gauges, and more.
  • Interpret complex blueprints, including advanced GD&T (geometric dimensioning & tolerancing) callouts such as true position, profile, MMC/LMC, and composite tolerances.
  • Operate and program Zeiss CMMs using Calypso software; create, edit, and validate measurement programs.
  • Calibrate and maintain gauges and inspection equipment.
  • Document and record inspection data accurately in the quality system for reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in compliance with company policies and quality standards.
  • Provide guidance to machinists, offering feedback and mentoring on quality issues.
  • Adjust to changing priorities and support cross-shift operations as needed.



What You'll Need (Qualifications)



  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on inspection experience in a precision CNC machining environment.
  • Experience operating and programming CMMs, or a strong willingness to learn and cross-train rapidly.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Strong skills in documenting production and quality metrics consistently and accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Attention to detail and consistency while performing repetitive inspection tasks.
  • Visual acuity (normal or corrected) sufficient to inspect to very fine tolerances (0.0001").


Preferred:



  • 4+ years of inspection experience.
  • Training in Calypso programming for CMMs.



Physical & Work Environment



  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Work involves repetitive, detail-oriented tasks.
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and clean environment.
  • Requires the ability to read fine measurements, maintain focus, and work independently.
