POSITION SCOPE

The Panel Setter is responsible for the safe and precise installation of prefabricated steel or concrete panels to construct physical barriers along the border. This role requires experience with heavy construction equipment and an ability to work in remote and rugged environments.

PRIMARY DUTIES



  • Operate cranes, forklifts, and other heavy lifting equipment to safely and accurately position and install large, prefabricated wall panels
  • Interpret construction blueprints and specifications to ensure correct placement, alignment, and installation of panels
  • Assist with preparing sites for panel installation, which may include clearing and leveling terrain, setting forms for concrete footings, and other related tasks
  • Receive, inspect, and transport panels and other construction materials around the job site
  • Perform welding, bolting, and other fastening techniques to securely join panels together and anchor them to foundations
  • Verify that all installation work meets project standards, tolerances, and quality control specifications
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any malfunctions or damage to supervisors
  • Collaborate with a team of other construction professionals, including heavy equipment operators, concrete finishers, and superintendent
  • Safety, Safety, Safety comply with all OSHA and company policies, procedures, and standards of safety
  • Perform other duties as assigned


REQUIREMENTS



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proven experience in heavy construction, particularly with setting large, prefabricated panels, modules, or structures
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Acceptable MVR in accordance with Fisher's Company Vehicle Program policy is required
  • OSHA certification or willingness to obtain certification - company will pay for certification
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods, including lifting heavy materials, climbing, stooping, and kneeling
  • The ability to follow and enforce safe work practices
  • Self-directed and can work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work in remote, rugged, and harsh weather conditions
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Ability to pass a Government Background Check
  • Willingness to travel and work on-site for extended periods, which may include living in temporary housing
  • Extended out-of-town travel, night shift, and/or weekend work required
