JUVENILE AND ADULT PROBATION OFFICER (S)
Full-time with benefits (40 hours per week) Union Starting Salary: $17.73/hour
Qualification: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 18 credit hours in behavioral sciences. Must possess a valid driver's license Requirements and Responsibilities-Youth: * Excellent evaluative, writing, communication, and counseling skills. * Ability to communicate effectively with youth, families, and outside agencies to aid in rehabilitation. * Must be able to work under pressure to meet short deadlines. * Must be able to work independently, be creative, and interact well with multiple systems. * Must be agreeable to evening work on a regular basis. * Must be able to work with challenging or non-compliant clients * All Officers must attend New Officer Orientation Training and Basic Firearms Training * Must perform case management and supervision, which includes using risk reductions, accountability measures, screening/assessment tools, case planning, and motivational interviewing. Requirements and Responsibilities-Adult: - Bachelor's degree with major in social sciences or law enforcement related field required - Minimum three (3) to five (5) years prior experience in criminal justice or social services area. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Pass a background check - Conduct pre-sentence investigations covering the defendant's personal history, the charged offense through interviews with defendants, officers, victims and other pertinent parties and by completed record checks. - Prepare report for Judge noting sentencing guidelines and mandatory sentencing information. - Testifies in court and makes appropriate recommendations - Provide personal counseling, and coordinate with outside treatment sources, to help client and family adjustment in the community. - Conduct direct supervision of cases assigned. Complete necessary home and employment visits, conduct investigations and make arrests in sometimes dangerous situations. - Maintain appropriate communication with client families, friends, teachers, social agencies, and pertinent others concerned with aiding clients in their rehabilitation. - Prepare pre-parole plans for effected clients, review progress and monitor behavior. - Ensure proper implementation of procedures according to department, court and regulatory guidelines. - In cases of probation violation, apprehend client and determine need for counseling, specialized treatment or for parole revocation. File required probation/parole violation reports. - Maintain complete case files of reports, recommendations, referrals, plans, client conversations/meeting, etc.
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - PROTHONOTARY
$15.47 Per Hour (Non-Exempt) Full time (40 hours per week) with benefits, Non-Exempt, Union-Eligible
Qualifications: * Minimum high school graduate with emphasis on business practice (Knowledge of legal terminology helpful) * Must have good typing skills and personal computer knowledge * Must have excellent "people skills" with the public, co-workers, and professional people. * Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
DEPUTY SHERIFF - FIELD DEPUTY
This work is at the entrance level in the performance of the field duties of the Sheriff's Office. Under supervision and on an assigned shift the work involves the responsibility for enforcing orders issued out of the Court of Common Pleas, and the various Magisterial District Courts of the County through the execution of both civil and criminal process, and for escorting jail inmates to and from other facilities and outside services. Work also includes conducting investigations of criminal activity, background checks of firearms permit and employment applicants, and peace officer duties during strikes and civil disturbances, as well as miscellaneous assignments within the area of public service duties imposed by custom and policy. ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High School graduate 2. 21 years of age 3. United States Citizen 4. Pennsylvania Resident 5. Certified as physically fit by office physician 6. Possession of a valid Pennsylvania vehicle operator's license 7. No arrest record other than a summary traffic violation 8. Proficiency in typing required QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED AFTER PROBATIONARY PERIOD: 1. Demonstrated ability to perform critical tasks and possession of major employee characteristics 2. Qualification with department weapons 3. Acceptable employee evaluation report at the end of probationary period
9-1-1 TELECOMMUNICATOR
Full time (40 hours per week) with benefits, Non-Exempt, Union-Eligible $19.11 Per Hour (Non-Exempt)
Qualifications: Minimum high school graduate or equivalent required. * The ability to effectively communicate over the telephone is required. Answering proficiency must be established and maintained. * Acceptable scoring on Criticall pre-employment call taking/dispatch testing program. * Experience in the field of public safety including call taking and emergency dispatch is preferred but not required. * Basic computer literacy

$62,500 + benefits (Full-time 40* hrs. per week)
* Juris Doctorate Degree * Admission to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania with current Attorney License. * Basic knowledge with Microsoft Office products. * Good communication/trial skills * Experience in Criminal Law a plus * Must have excellent "people skills" with the public, co- workers and other professionals. * Must be able to work within the "Team Concept"
