The Billing Specialist will be responsible for the accurate preparation, submission, and follow-up of claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance payers. This position ensures all claims are processed in accordance with payer rules and regulatory requirements, while maintaining efficient and compliant billing operations to support timely reimbursement. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and comfortable working with large volumes of data. Benefits:
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Billing Responsibilities 1. Generate, review, and submit electronic and paper claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payers. 2. Review documentation for completeness and compliance with payer requirements. 3. Identify and correct claim errors prior to submission to minimize denials and rejections. 4. Monitor claim status and perform timely follow-up to ensure prompt payment. 5. Research and resolve claim denials, underpayments, and discrepancies. 6. Prepare and process claim adjustments, resubmissions, and appeals as needed. 7. Assist Accounts Receivable staff with posting and reconciling payments and adjustments. 8. Communicate with internal departments (clinical, intake, and administrative teams) to resolve billing-related issues. 9. Maintain current knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance billing regulations and reimbursement policies. General AR Support
