SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

It is the responsibility of the Compliance Specialist to take ownership of all tasks and challenges that they encounter in the operation of their assigned position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Deposit Compliance Specialist, under the direction of the Sr. Digital & Corporate Compliance Officer, is responsible for researching and providing guidance to the deposit lines of business as the compliance representative on applicable regulatory requirements. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining a proficient level of knowledge of various federal banking laws and regulations related to deposit accounts and digital banking.

  • Clearly and concisely communicating compliance risks to management in the normal course of business and through formal reporting.

  • Assisting management in the development of controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate compliance risks identified through various means, including but not limited to internal audits, regulatory exams and internal compliance monitoring reviews.

  • Researching compliance issues for management and providing guidance on applicable requirements.

  • Assisting with completing compliance risk assessments by capturing applicable risks and controls for the deposit and digital lines of business.

  • Providing compliance guidance and participating on project teams responsible for implementing changes to systems or applications used by the deposit and digital lines of business.

  • Working with the Sr. Digital & Corporate Compliance Officer to implement applicable regulatory change projects and/or serving as the project's compliance representative on new or changed laws and regulations.

  • Attending line of business meetings, as needed, to cover applicable outstanding issues, regulatory changes or other compliance matters related to the business unit.

  • Providing detailed reporting on outstanding compliance risks, action plans, and the status of resolution efforts.

  • Assisting and providing guidance to the deposit and digital lines of business in the development or updating of first line monitoring efforts as needed.

  • Assisting with the gathering of information for regulatory exams or audits.

  • Assisting the Sr. Digital & Corporate Compliance Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state compliance laws and regulations related to deposit and digital banking lines of business.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with diverse groups and individuals and various levels of management.

  • Ability to conduct business in a professional manner.

  • Strong organizational, analytical and research skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to adapt to change and communicate requirements.

  • Ability to analyze large amounts of information and data and make informed, quick decisions.

  • Excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to function well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements

  • At least two years of applicable legal or regulatory compliance related experience.

  • CRCM Certification preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in a project-oriented environment.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES

Required annual compliance training and continuing education courses as prescribed by management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and reports. Must be able to effectively communicate telephonically, through web-based meetings, and emails to discuss findings, issues, or concerns. This position requires a large amount of time in front of a computer. This can be done sitting or standing with use of the right desk.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Telecommuting roles no matter if hybrid or 100% full time telecommuting must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. They must also have a reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology is delivered. Travel may be required to attend meetings as needed.

In accordance with Colorado law: Colorado pay for this position is anticipated to be between $58,496.00 - $93,444.00 , actual offers to be determined based on applicant's skills, experience and education.
