Job Summary

This position supports the enterprise-wide strategy and implementation of water and biodiversity initiatives aligned with Cox Conserves' sustainability goals. The primary responsibilities are to assist the Director of Water and Biodiversity in developing, executing, and tracking internal and external projects while collaborating across the Cox Conserves team and business unit partners. The role focuses on advancing biodiversity enhancement and water conservation with the goal of achieving specified, measurable targets by 2034. This includes developing strategies and methods that drive impact through data-informed decision-making and cross-functional engagement while supporting the organization's operational efficiency and financial targets.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and strategic guidance on water and biodiversity issues to support the Director of Water and Biodiversity and broader sustainability team.
  • Use data analysis and geospatial tools to identify, prioritize, and monitor high-risk watersheds and priority ecosystems for targeted interventions.
  • Evaluate the company's environmental footprint using ecological, natural capital, and ecosystem services frameworks.
  • Work cross-functionally to align projects with broader company initiatives and core targets.
  • Design, implement, and measure project outcomes to achieve water and biodiversity conservation and stewardship goals.
  • Contribute to reporting, tracking, and governance processes for water and biodiversity programs.
  • Collaborate with local and national organizations to advance stewardship initiatives and amplify impact.


Job Qualifications - Experience/Education/Training

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, Environmental Health, or a related field and 2+ years of related experience. Candidate can also has a MS degree and up to 2 years of experience or 6 years of experience without a degree.
  • Knowledge and experience with water conservation and stewardship initiatives, ecological modeling, geospatial analysis, field data integration, and natural capital accounting.
  • Understanding of corporate sustainability best practices.


Preferred

  • Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, or related degree with 2+ years of experience.
  • Experience in calculating watershed and biodiversity benefits.

  • Advanced Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, for generating reports, presentations, and documentation.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas) for efficient data manipulation, modeling, and analysis.
  • Proficiency in SQL (Structured Query Language) for basic data querying, extraction, and data management from relational databases.
  • Geospatial Data & Programming demonstrated skill in using Python libraries such as Pandas and NumPy for data input, manipulation, and statistical analysis.
  • Experience with GeoPandas or equivalent tools for managing, analyzing, and manipulating geolocation data.
  • Proficiency in Geographic Information System (GIS) data mapping using specialized software such as ArcGIS or QGIS.

USD 72,200.00 - 108,200.00 per year

Compensation:

Compensation includes a base salary of $72,200.00 - $108,200.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Benefits:

The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
