KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Associate, Audit Federal Tech to join our Federal Industry Transformation organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement innovative solutions by leading ideation and design-thinking workshops, developing data driven audit plans, and collaborating with engagement teams to determine, where emerging technologies and automation can be applied to reimagine how audits are executed; contribute to a productive team environment and coach engagement teams to develop a data-first mindset by building trust, displaying respect, and championing the firm's values
  • Prepare comprehensive audit documentation, including solution designs, technical specifications, and project plans to develop technology; lead the development, support, and adoption of critical audit tools (such as Alteryx, Power BI, generative AI, KPMG Clara and other advanced platforms) by understanding data hierarchies, gathering data requirements, empowering our people to develop an innovative mindset, and ensuring continuous improvement of solutions through feedback
  • Design and collaborate on strategic and innovative decision-making processes, as well as advocate for innovative solutions within industry and national projects; support projects related to the development of new industry technology solutions, including projects with the Intelligent Tools Team (ITT) and the Department of Professional Practice (DPP) which includes developing an understanding of technology needs within the industry, potential use cases, deployment considerations, and running test cases
  • Collaborate with other Federal Industry Transformation professionals to identify opportunities to showcase sessions to industry professionals to support portfolio growth efforts
  • Deliver robust and high-quality audit documentation that meet regulatory and professional standards for Federal entities; interact regularly with senior management and business leaders to understand client needs, drive strategic decision-making, and foster confidence in technology-enabled audits
  • Display a natural curiosity to explore and learn how new technologies can enhance traditional audit methodologies; demonstrate excitement and enthusiasm for solving complex processes and difficult problems; work independently through challenges while also knowing when to seek support and collaborate with others; coach others in support of teaching new skillsets, process improvements, and changes to ways of working
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
Qualifications:
  • Minimum three years of recent experience in Federal financial statement audit within a public accounting firm, with demonstrated supervisory and client relationship background
  • Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BS), or Master of Science (MS) degree from an accredited college/university in an appropriate field
  • Experience in data-driven auditing and data and analytics preferred
  • Intermediate understanding and audit experience with Alteryx, Power BI, and generative AI required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; self-confidence to work collaboratively and independently in a culture-rich and fast-changing environment
  • Applied working knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), U.S. Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), and Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB)
