Overview

Summary/Objective: The Quality Coordinator is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, reporting and taking action on the quality of products and services provided by customers and by suppliers. This individual will work with all departments to ensure that the highest quality standards are met and maintained.

The Quality Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing quality standards, procedures, and controls. This will include conducting internal audits, reviewing documentation, and providing feedback.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Analyzing customer feedback and complaints and taking necessary corrective action.
  2. Developing and maintaining quality management systems; including creating policies and procedures, creating and updating SOPs, and creating reports to present to
  3. Training Team Members on quality standards and procedures; ensure that all staff are knowledgeable and compliant with quality
  4. Monitoring supplier performance and ensuring suppliers meet quality standards. This may include conducting supplier audits and assessing supplier quality systems.
  5. Make recommendations for improvements to processes, procedures, and systems.
  6. Communicating and monitoring changes to processes, procedures, and systems.
  7. Coordinate and participate in problem solving activities.
  8. Supervise the on-site quality team
  9. Supervise off-site 3rd party quality resources (when required)
  10. Other duties as assigned.

Skills Required

  1. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify defects and implement solutions
  2. Technical Proficiency: Practical experience with quality core tools and industry standards such as:
  • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP, D&PFMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP, etc..)
  • International management system standard (ISO 9001:2015)
    • IATF:16949 can be advantageous
    • ISO:14001 can be advantageous
  • Practical experience working with a process-based Quality Management System (QMS)

Supervisory Skill:

  • Proven experience in managing people
  • Respected leadership qualities
  • Strong capacity to build meaningful interpersonal relationships

Qualifications:

  1. Technical degree in a pertinent discipline or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
  2. 5+ years of experience in quality assurance or quality management

Certifications:

Certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949 Lead Auditor, Six Sigma can be advantageous.

Competencies:

  1. Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
  2. Team player
  3. Capacity to make quick /rational decisions
  4. Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  5. Strong attention to detail
  6. Ability to Manage people

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • The Quality Coordinator has the responsibility of managing the Quality Team Members in achieving their daily activities (ex: Quality Tech, Quality Lead, Quality Inspector)
  • Perform periodic reviews of the Quality Team Members
  • Perform annual reviews of Quality Team Members

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time salaried position at 40 hours per week. (note: the specific work hours are to be discussed with the direct manager and in accordance with operational need)

Travel:

  • Local travel to the main customer is frequent (Weekly)
  • Long distance travel will be moderate (ex: Supplier or customer visits, inter-company visits)
  • Must have a reliable transportation to work
  • Having a valid passport would be an added benefit (no legal restrictions on obtaining a passport

Preferred Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree
  2. Manufacturing/industry experience.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

  • Must be able to pass E-Verify.
