In the role of a Research Associate II you will be working in Pediatric Department. Summary Under minimal supervision, uses fundamental and advanced concepts, practices, and procedures of particular field of specialization to perform complex scientific research. Primary Responsibilities * Perform and develop routine and complex experimental designs for implementation in the lab. * Develop new methodologies for lab procedures. * Oversee ordering laboratory supplies and materials. * Participate in meetings with principle investigator and research staff and evaluate/interpret the validity of data, develop methodologies, evaluate lab procedures. * Teach and train new members of the lab in relevant techniques and analytical procedures. * Organize and delegate work assignments. * Perform library searches prepare materials for publications and grants. Knowledge - Skills - Abilities Knowledge of biology, chemistry, mathematics, documentation, and records management. Data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills.
Qualifications Appropriate experience may be substituted for educaiton on an equivalent basis. Minimum Required Education: Master's degree Minimum Required Experience: 2 years laboratory research molecular biology/cellular biology Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Genetics; Master of Science in Genetic Counseling Preferred Experience: Basic research in laboratory Science preferred in Molecular or Cellular Biology Required Certification/Licensure(s): Graduate Certificate in Public Health
