Leidos' Office of Technology's Digital Engineering team has several opportunities for mid-career Software Engineers looking for remote work or working out of any major Leidos location. This role gives team members a chance to develop products and services and facilitate cross-functional collaboration within the Defense Systems Sector. The Digital Engineering team known as HERMES is a service-oriented organization that works with programs and project teams to systematically improve efficiency, eliminate and prevent pain points, and bring modern digital practices to the hands of the tactical day-to-day employee. Under the Director of Digital Engineering, HERMES is responsible for architecting and implementing large-scale Digital solutions, independent reviews of digital practices, and support of teams implementing new practices. The team plays a pivotal role in fostering teamwork, creativity, and technological advancement in digital engineering initiatives, driving competitive advantage and value creation for the organization.

Selected candidate will have experience in full-stack software development to assist Engineering Product Owners in developing Digital Ecosystem as a Service within the Leidos Network. You will assist in the solution design implementation, particularly in the data layer, application, and data integration (API solutioning), application coding, and UI/UX. You will have opportunities to adapt the Digital Architecture solution to various defense system programs within Space, Maritime, Land, and Air domains. You will get to hone your soft skills through collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams including systems engineers, other software developers, and solution architects to ensure project goals align, and program deadlines are met.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Aid in process improvement initiatives by researching emerging digital engineering technologies and providing recommendations for integration.
• Document technical solutions, workflows, and processes to ensure knowledge sharing and adherence to standards.
• Participate in meetings, prepare reports, and present technical insights to team members and stakeholders.
• Assist with troubleshooting, performance analysis, and optimization of digital engineering systems.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and adherence to best practices in software design and architecture.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a computer related discipline with minimum of 5 years of professional software development / engineering experience. Additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• 3+ years of experience with scripting for Cloud architecture/engineering, integration, and automation.
• Experience with AWS single-tenancy and multi-tenancy cloud solutions.
• Experience with shared-single application instantiation solution, AWS Workspace and AppStream solution and option in VDIs.
• Proven soft skills in working with various personality types.
• US citizenship is required and able to obtain Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Jenkins/Ansible, Grafana, SonarQube, Artifactory, Domain Controller, Bastion/Guac, Gitlab, Jira-Confluence, Load balancing, etc.
• Experience with both in AWS GovCloud and AWS commercial desired
• Experience in IL-5 environment and IL-6 environment desired
• Highly knowledgeable in security/cyber requirements, cloud-based and on-prem security stacks
• Highly knowledgeable in cloud connection/interface solutions to both internal/external on-prem or external cloud environments
• AWS related certifications desired
