Building Controls Project Engineer: This is where you come in.

We are seeking a Building Controls Project Engineer to provide essential support to the Building Controls Team in delivering successful projects to our customers. This role manages project information from initial setup through final closeout, including scheduling, material and equipment coordination, data entry, and report creation. You will leverage workflows and visual tools to ensure efficient team operations and serve as a liaison between internal MacDonald-Miller teams, suppliers, and clients to facilitate clear communication and seamless coordination.

  • Foster effective communication, coordination, and follow-up among project team members and stakeholders.
  • Track and maintain document management processes throughout the project lifecycle, from initial setup to project closeout.
  • Coordinate project timelines with material ordering to ensure all document deliverables and deadlines are met.
  • Maintain and update department standard operating procedures, as well as materials and training libraries, keeping them current and relevant.
  • Manage and update department reports for the PM Manager and Director within system applications.
  • Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and team-building meetings or events.
  • Support team initiatives and process improvements, including research, documentation, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Demonstrate diligence and commitment to a full-day work schedule in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation as requested.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate assigned projects or activities to meet deadlines efficiently.

The Building Controls Project Engineer reports to Rachelle James, Lead Project Manager, and is an integral member of a collaborative team driving a variety of projects and initiatives that support our growing business. This highly visible role provides the opportunity to work closely across all levels and functions within the organization.

Your Background: What Kind of Person Will Thrive in This Role?

You should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Controls Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in building automation systems (BAS), HVAC controls, or related construction/project engineering environments.
  • Previous experience in project coordination, project engineering, or construction support is highly desirable.

Compensation: $77,000-$100,000 Annually
