This position is designated as a hybrid role based out of our headquarters near Portland, Oregon. The current expectation is for employees to work onsite four days per week, subject to change based on business needs. This in-office requirement may be adjusted at the discretion of the company.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Field Marketing Manager leads a regional marketing team responsible for driving engagement, awareness, and sell-through for Columbia Sportswear's Performance Fishing Gear (PFG) category. This role sets the overarching regional marketing strategy, guiding a team of specialists across community engagement, account activation, influencer partnerships, and digital growth initiatives.

As a strategic and collaborative leader, this position partners closely with Brand Marketing, Sales, Merchandising, and Digital teams to ensure PFG's story comes to life across regions and touchpoints. The Manager will develop clear priorities, provide creative direction, and connect regional execution to brand and business goals - ensuring PFG continues to lead with authenticity and innovation in the fishing community.

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and mentor a team of regional Content & Community Marketing Specialists to deliver impactful, locally relevant brand activations.

  • Develop and execute the overarching PFG regional marketing strategy that connects local market insights with brand priorities.

  • Define annual goals, KPIs, and success metrics in partnership with Brand Marketing and Sales leadership.

  • Foster collaboration across marketing functions to ensure alignment of storytelling, seasonal initiatives, and product launches.

Community & Event Marketing

  • Oversee event and partnership strategies that engage fishing communities, nonprofit partners, and key regional accounts

  • Guide team execution of event activations, tournaments, and local events to strengthen brand presence and affinity.

Wholesale Account Marketing

  • Partner with Sales and Merchandising teams to create and support marketing programs for wholesale accounts that drive visibility and sell-through.

  • Establish best practices and scalable toolkits for in-store marketing and local activation.

Content & Influencer Strategy

  • Oversee influencer and athlete partnerships to ensure authenticity, alignment, and impact.

  • Direct the creation and amplification of content that supports seasonal stories, product campaigns, and regional events.

  • Partner with the Digital Marketing team to connect regional content efforts with global social and paid media strategies.

Analytics & Optimization

  • Review performance insights and regional feedback to inform strategy, optimize campaign performance, and identify new opportunities.

  • Champion a test-and-learn approach across regions to improve efficiency and impact

YOU ARE

  • An outstanding leader who can translate company strategies into functional team goals.

  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and work both independently and collaborate with various types of teams.

YOUHAVE

  • Bachelor's or master's degree, or applicable certification or equivalent experience.

  • Typically requires 8+ years functional experience.

  • Experience managing individual contributors and a department or acting as a lead.

  • Ability to manage and lead teams of people in local or remote locations.

  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills

  • Intermediate level of computer skills including spreadsheet and word processing applications.

  • Ability to conduct complex interpersonal interactions with people who are in a position to affect sales of Columbia Sportswear products.

  • Ability to solve problems, make decisions independently, operate independently, and with discretion and work efficiently under pressure.

  • May travel 40% of the time.
