We are looking for an organized, professional, dedicated and extremely detail oriented individual to join asa Senior Accounts Payable Coordinator. The Senior Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for performing operation support in the accounting department of the credit union. This position will work in a high-volume, fast paced environment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to invoice processing, general ledger coding, payment processing, vendor management, data gathering, data reporting and account reconciliation as well as working closely with other departments.

Accounts Payable:

  • Coordinate with vendors and assist to facilitate all payments in a timeframe associated with vendor terms and current payment policy.
  • Collect and verify all incoming invoices.
  • Evaluate all invoices received from vendors, verify receipt dates and forward to management in A/P workflow system.
  • Monitor all accounts payable payments and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during annual audits by providing support and current written policy.
  • Track invoices and payments are due, prioritizing them according to the terms of the invoice.
  • Confirm appropriate approvals before processing invoices.
  • Confirm coding on approved invoices.
  • Issue stop-payments and track uncashed checks.
  • Prepare A/P month end accrual list.
  • Assist in the preparation of 1099's as well as understanding the difference between 1099 vs non 1099 vendors.

Experience:

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with new vendors and handle all inquiries from customers and employees.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills to effectively communicate with management, staff, and outside contacts.
  • Research and compile information for the purpose of successfully recommending product and/or services marketing opportunities.
  • Proficient math skills.
  • Excellent analytical and project management skills
  • Very detail oriented.

Operational Support:

  • Must demonstrate a functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act.
  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.
  • Minimum three-year experience or combination of education and experience.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and practice.
  • Experience with Microsoft GP Dynamics software.
  • Experience with a Payables Work-flow system.

Position Details:

  • Location: Downtown Tampa - GTE Headquarters
  • Department Hours: Monday- Friday (8:00 am to 6:00 pm) // Saturday (9:00 am to 1:00 pm)

Full-time hours required, with additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives, goals, and projects.

The position is defined as hybrid in nature, (in-office, or remote) and may be changed at any time by management with appropriate notice, if possible.

Required for Remote/Hybrid Work:

  • A quiet workplace so you can focus on delivering excellent service to our members.
  • Some positions will require performance standards to be met to qualify for alternative work arrangements.
  • Required to have power and high-speed internet over 100MB (minimum).
  • Video capability (connection of 1.5 Mbps up and down recommended).
  • Candidates must provide and meet all technical requirements prior to the first day of training.
  • Hybrid candidates must live within driving distance of the office location and be able to regularly commute to and from the office location as needed.
