 Position Summary
 The University of New Mexico's Department of Internal Medicine's Division of Hospital Medicine is looking for an outgoing student with an interest in research, medicine, and the day to day operations of the largest division within the School of Medicine to join our team. Special project opportunities include working with School of Medicine Faculty and the Division Leadership. Pre-med and public health administration academic opportunities.
 The ideal candidate will possess: 
 Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with strong attention to detailStrong organizational skills with ability to recognize processes that need improvementProficiency with basic office operations such as copying/scanning/emailDatabase entry, maintenance, and running reportsAbility to work independently and maintain patient confidentiality at all timesEstablish, maintain, process, and/or update files, records and/or other documentsAssist medical faculty and staff with organizational and special projectsProcess incoming mail; distribute correspondence and other material to Division staff/facultyBasic IT solutions for some of our faculty and staff.Performs miscellaneous duties/tasks/projects as assigned  This position is Monday through Friday up to 20 - 28 hours per week, with flexibility in
 scheduling during the office hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm.

 Proficient in Microsoft Word (document formatting, editing)Basic to intermediate skills in Excel (data entry, sorting, formulas)Familiar with PowerPoint (creating and editing presentations)      Customer Service Skills 
 Friendly and helpful demeanor when assisting visitors or responding to inquiriesAbility to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environmentWillingness to assist with a variety of tasks as needed Organizational Skills
