Position Summary

The Office of Medical Student Affairs is seeking a Coordinator, Academics to join their dynamic student support team. As part of their regular duties, the successful candidate will coordinate all the fourth-year medical student activities including updating creating the Phase III course catalog, creating Dean's Letters (MSPEs), tracking Phase III course grades, providing the students with information and support for the ERAS (Electronic residency application service), VSLO (Visiting Student Learning Opportunities) and NRMP (National Residency Match Program), support UNM MD students in securing Affiliation Agreements for away rotations. The successful incumbent will work closely with the MD Registrar/Manager, Student Success to help with mass course registration and grade entry.

Additional duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide back-up/support for medical student compliance requirements, including fingerprinting, background checks, drug testing, and UNM and Health Sciences Center (HSC) required training to ensure that each student has met compliance requirements.
  • Support with event promotion/marketing material such as slide shows, videos and class composites.
  • Train and support department coordinators with the Visiting Student application.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with confidential information
  • Proficient with in-person, electronic, and phone/Zoom based customer service
  • High attention to detail and strong organization skills
