Job Description

Position Overview:
Support in the articulation, implementation and enforcement of Quality Management Systems,
Equipment, Processes, and Mold Validations, Customer & 3rd Party Audits, and Customer
Complaint Investigations & Responses in the Franklin, IN facility. Collects and interprets quality
metrics and measures of quality and uses data to develop action plans to address issues and take
advantage of improvement opportunities. Work in parallel with the Quality Manager to service
customers and internal departments to maintain quality systems and resolve quality issues.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Manage and Facilitate the Amcor Quality Systems to Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI)
including IFS PACsecure and HACCP Certification.
* Develop and implement Validation Protocols for Plant Equipment, Systems, Processes, and
Molds.
* Facilitate Customer and 3rd Party Quality Systems Audits of the Franklin, IN facility and
respond to Audit Observations and Findings.
* Facilitate Investigations and Corrective Action Responses to Customer Complaints. Must be
familiar with the 8D Root Cause Analysis Method. Perform root cause analysis and failure
investigations. Assist in identification, tracking and trending of corrective and preventive
actions to ensure their effective application and the timely resolution of problems.
* Prepare, review and evaluate data and information and develop recommendations for use by
plant and division QA management.
* Utilize key measurement data to develop quality plans with clear definitions of objectives,
actions to be taken and timelines for completion.

* Utilize quality techniques to reduce process variations or refine process parameters based
upon results.
* Facilitate the application of problem-solving techniques; investigate and recommend the use
of additional techniques in addressing production / quality problems.
* Act as plant resource to standardize formal investigations through process evaluation, datadriven
decision-making, template development and training.
* Develop and implement systems that will track the performance of manufacturing processes.
* Assist in development of SOPs and Work Instructions.
* Lead and facilitate problem-solving teams.
* Other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree required. A degree in Engineering, Mathematics or related field strongly
preferred.
* Strong working knowledge or performance measurement and monitoring methods required.
Professional accreditation by ASQ in Quality Engineering, Management or Auditing is
preferred. 2-3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred; prior experience
in plastics (High speed injection or Stretch blow molding) and/or other packaging desired.
Interpersonal Skills
* Excellent written, verbal and comprehension skills required. Strong presentation skills
required. Must display a professional demeanor and possess the ability work effectively
across responsibility levels and functions in both internal and external (customers)
organizations. Team facilitation/leadership skills required. Ability to work independently with
strong time management skills required.
Technical Skills
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills required in order to understand, interpret and resolve
technical problems involving several variables. Strong technical writing skills required.
* Knowledge of statistics, data analysis, SPC and process control required. Must have ability to
learn and apply skills in word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software and databases.

Level of Authority
* The Quality Engineer has the authority to shut down production equipment to prevent the
production defective product and place product on hold if it does not meet the customer/company
specification.

* Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and
fundamentals of plain and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as
fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to
interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal
with several abstract and concrete variables.
