What You Will Do

As a Sr. Business Analyst on the Distribution Center & Parts Business Analytics team at Johnson Controls, you will play a critical role in designing and supporting integrations between ERP systems and partner platforms that power our North America Parts business. You'll collaborate across operations, supply chain, product, and commercial teams to ensure data integrity, enable process automation, and deliver actionable insights through analytics tools.

Key Responsibilities

Integration Design & Support

  • Document integration architecture, data lineage, and process dependencies to support modernization and scalability.

  • Ensure data flow integrity and alignment with business processes, working closely with IT and business stakeholders.

  • Lead and coordinate system integrations across platforms such as Lawson-SCALE (Manhattan), MAPICS-SCALE, and Lawson-DHL.

Analytics & Reporting Enablement

  • Develop repeatable data pipelines and maintain documentation aligned with enterprise standards.

  • Design governed datasets and build Power BI dashboards to support operational reporting and performance tracking.

  • Translate data findings into clear recommendations and operational playbooks for leadership and frontline teams.

Business Partnership & Outcomes

  • Support requirements gathering, process mapping, and user story development to ensure successful delivery of analytics and integration solutions.

  • Collaborate with DC Operations, Planning, Order Excellence, Product, and Finance to define KPIs and track performance improvements (e.g., on-time delivery, inventory turns, backorder cycle time).

Data Quality & Governance

  • Promote data quality rules, reference/master data alignment, and stewardship practices in partnership with IT and Data teams.

Stakeholder Enablement

  • Develop training materials, host office hours, and support self-service analytics for business users.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify process gaps, test hypotheses (including A/B testing where applicable), and quantify impact using controlled metrics.

How You'll Succeed

  • Distribution Center Insight: Hands-on experience in a product distribution environment with strong SQL and programming skills.

  • Integration Expertise: Experience managing ERP integration projects, including coordinating cross-functional teams, overseeing timelines and deliverables, and ensuring seamless data flow across systems.

  • Builder Mindset: Creates sustainable integration frameworks, documentation, and reusable patterns.

  • Trusted Partner: Communicates clearly and builds credibility with DC leaders, planners, and cross-functional teams.

Work Model & Travel

  • Work Model: Remote

  • Travel: 10-15% to distribution centers and partner sites, based on business needs

What We Look For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent working experience).

  • 5-8+ years of experience in Business Analytics or Business Analysis, with direct exposure to parts/aftermarket, supply chain, or distribution domains.

  • Strong SQL and data modeling skills; experience with BI semantic models (star/snowflake).

  • Experience supporting ERP integrations and data flows across platforms.

  • Proven Power BI expertise, including DAX, performance tuning, and governance-aligned sharing.

  • Excellent communication and requirements management skills, including process mapping and user story development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Oracle, SAP, Lawson, MAPICS data structures and ERP-to-analytics reporting (orders, shipments, inventory, customers, products).

  • Familiarity with KetteQ or advanced planning/optimization tools; exposure to inventory optimization and backorder management.

  • Knowledge of legacy ERP systems (e.g., MAPICS, Lawson) and data lineage during modernization.

  • Background in data governance and KPI definition across functions.

  • Experience with scripting for automation (Python, DAX/M, Power Automate) and basic statistics/forecasting.

  • Agile product delivery experience with PM/PO partners; comfort with JIRA workflows.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $100,000 -140,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
